Sarasota. FL....Nancy Ky

« on: July 21, 2018, 10:15:48 AM »

I am going up for a month in mid September. I have a number of bulky items I want to get up there but do not have the room in the MKX.
My wife dosent want a hitch on her car so I am look for some way to get this stuff to our house on the lake.
A 10'penske truck is the only option I am coming up with.
Any Ideas?  Does any body know of one way rentals for cargo vans?
Thanks

Could rent a Uhaul cargo van or small box van one way up and another one way back.  Penske may do this also, however U haul has many more outlets.

Uhaul doesn't do one way on cargo vans and where almost twice the price in a truck rental

Might not be as cheap as adding a hidden hitch and a trailer (depending on what is, weighs and size) but, have you considered mailing or shipping to the destination address?

Ok, have you considered an LTL shipment?

Worst case, I'd be happy to come down to your place and haul your stuff to Lake Cumberland....  2funny

What is LTL?  The Penske truck and gas should be around $550

A shipping acronym for “Limited Truck Load”.

There are also movers such as Mayflower and others that can do this for you.   Try U Ship, there is usually someone looking for a return load.   Heck, i’d Do it myself if I had anything going to FL.

Thanks Rams.... If you get down here before September let me know. I wish I could talk her into the hitch. I have a new covered trailer I could use but my wife doesn't want it and doesn't want to tow anything with here car. Guess Ill rent a truck and drive.

Well, there is alway a chance I’ll be down there but, impossible to predict.   Have a potential transport to Miami but, that “potential” customer has not committed.   Will let you know if that transport comes to fruition  but until he says go, don’t have nutt’n going that way.

It's doubtful I'll get down to FL but, one never knows.

Regardless of that, Nancy, KY is only about a hundred smiles south of me, if you have time while you're there, let's get together.   Will you have yer fat lady with ya?

Big Bill Fergusion (our unofficial Valkyrie technician) will be at my place in Frankfort in September (we think).   I plan on hosting a Meet, Greet and Eat while he's here.   Several of our Valkyrie brothers are bringing their fat ladies over for different things.    Just something to think about....   angel  Evil

We'll do something even if it ain't right....   Grin

This is just a bit confusing.   You have a covered trailer and yet nothing to pull it with?

If you have something to pull it with, why not use that?   I'm so confused.....  uglystupid2
