Interstate Fairing Install on a Tourer
«

Question:
How many guys have added a Interstate fairing to a Tourer ?
What do I need to look out for ?
I have a Chance to buy a Interstate Fairing from a guy and He claims it's all there.( brackets etc)
I don't know about wiring it up as well , example is there a short harness I could plug into my Tourer harness
soemwhere on the bike , or is this a whole rewire job.

Better to be judged by 12, then carried by 6.

I thought the frames are different. I think the fairing bracket is welded to the front. Or it could just be bolted on.

I think the wiring harnesses are completely different not saying it cannot be done but I think you would need the whole harness!

With the right amount of money, I am sure it is possible. However, if it were my money I would be inclined to get an I/S and then remove what I didn't want. Wait.... I already have an I/S....... but I would like to get another one and do that....

For any of the instruments, or the display to function, you'd need to replace the entire main wiring harness. At that point you'd only have the speedo & tach operating.
The entire center section of the display would be dead unless you also buy the OEM AM/FM radio. It's an expensive project, and really labor-intensive changing out the main wiring loom & finding all the nitty bits to make all the electrics work properly
