I did chance taking the motorcycle to work a few days this week

Thanks to the myradar app I got just a lite spritz as I got within a mile of home on Thursday. Missed the rain during the day as I was already back from Court when the skies opened up.

But have not been on a Valkyrie for a week...

Our eggplants in the garden are under 3" of water.  They are the only things NOT in a raised bed this year  Harvested 105 garlic plants last weekend when we had a few minutes of sun and dried them in brown paper bag out of the sun, then brushed the dirt off the bulbs which are now hanging in the basement till time to use them in the fall and winter.   Here is some of the garlic hanging in front of 2 of the pantries
Flash flood warnings several times every day

What kind of summer is this? supposed to be pouring and thunder all day again. Monday 95 maybe less rain, maybe.

Wish I could send this rain out to the southwest where it is sorely needed.

Send it down here to The Republic. The Texas Rain prayer currently sounds something like this:

Dear Lord, please send rain.
Not so much for me, for I have seen it before, but for my 7 year old, who has not.

I hear you Evan, I took Monday off and rode all day. Rained every day since, bike never left the garage.
Today a tornado hit the neighboring town, looks like lots of damage. A co-workers house was hit, lots of damage to it, but everyone is ok.
Waiting on a call that the roads are open so I can head over there with my saw to help out.

Hopefully it will dry out for your ride!

Yeah, my new hobby needs to be an arc (not for all the animals, just for me).

I suppose a 12" aluminum would be OK.

On the upside, it appears to have drowned a million ants (so I only have the other million to deal with).

We have had two tornados within 5 miles of me.

F1 only.  That is when I dug the multiple drains 4" runs that run clear to the rear property line and the big dry well   I think the dry well is full at this time but no back up in any of the drains which I cleaned last month.

Sunday we had a large 30+foot maple tree take down part of my rear fence but it fell across the back yard toward my idiot neighbor's house and missed my deck completely. Lucky fall !  The base of the tree was NOT on my property.

We have terrific town highway dept, I know many from when I coached AYSO soccer and helped as 1b coach in baseball for years as we are getting old together lol  and asked a foreman if he or one of his men would like to give me an estimate to cut the good maple into 15" long pieces and put the balance out for town to pick up

He had a man come out Friday at 8am and he gave me a price well less than half what the landscaper wanted. I said done deal we shook on it and he will bring a man or 2 over after their shift monday to get it all done. The town is more than fine with it as long as its after shift work and they can use the mulch after chipped.   I am fine with it too as he told me that in the fall there was some preventive work he could do as well.

Always has benefitted me to think of the people who work here or in court, it costs nothing to be a human and people mostly are happy to be nice back.  The price is a bonus but not the reason. I just like supporting local when I can whether farmer, hardware store or shoe repair man  I often pay more for local and it is good for me. YMMV

Wish you could send it to AZ. We're drier than a popcorn fart. BTW: The Watkins Glenn Xfinity race is about to be rained out, or they'll put rain tires on. This should be fun.

We had an EF3 back in 2011.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2011_New_England_tornado_outbreak

It was a beauty, lot's of damage for just under 40 miles.  Got to a 1/2 mile wide at one point.  Lost power for a week.  Houses completely ripped off the foundation and torn apart.

I was rebuilding a house and the owner came out and told me his wife's dentist called, someone found her bridge work, in its case, on Nantucket.

It didn't get much coverage nationwide cause the middle of the country was getting walloped.

Remember that one well Bill.
We had to pick up tons of house insulation that “ rained “ down from the sky all over town.
Then I spent 3 days in Brimfield cutting trees off houses & barns.
Learned real quick that my problems were pretty small compared to people that had a tornado go thru their house...
Looks like no riding tomorrow, slinging a chain saw at my co-workers house instead. He would do the same so it’s all good.

I was deer hunting one year and stumbled upon 3 family pictures. I picked them up and put them in my back pack. After hunting I took them to my brothers wife. I was hunting on her family property. She investigated it and fout out 3 weeks later that the family in the pictures home was destroyed by a tornado a week prior to me finding them. They lived in Evansville indiana over 100 miles away. Those pictures were the only thing left of their home. They were returned and were very happy to have them back. I guess the tornado sucked them up into the atmosphere and deposited them on my hunting grounds.

Seen where some asked for your moisture to be sent to Southwest and Northern CA, Hey just plain send it to the West Coast area.  We all need the moisture to dampen down the fires out here.  CA/OR/WA have lots of wild fires burning, some won't go out till the snow flies.   We have just gone thru 3 weeks of bad smoke.  No riding.   One should be wearing a mask when out and about, though few do.

No moisture this time of year is normal for us, but the fires make it just plan miserable .  The east side is getting too must moisture we're getting tool little.

Though we have gotten two days of fairly good air, did ride for a two short rides.
