Sometimes ya just gotta go...

Winter Springs, FL - Occasionally...

« on: August 14, 2018, 11:52:14 AM »

Hey, y'all, looky here!!!

Got ready for the doctor's visit this morning, then took that tell-tale step that would help me determine the next several moves, not to mention the next several days... WOW! That shoe slipped right on rather easily; so easily, in fact, it nearly spooked me! I'd anticipated it would be touch and go, but nope... it just slid right on! No pain, either, just a teensy bit of discomfort was all... I'll take it!!!

That not only meant I'd be much more stylish when I sauntered (or strutted, I ain't decided yet) into the patient waiting area in another hour or so. It also meant I'd be able, most likely, to get my boot on in the morning and head ALI southeastward! I'm optimistic about that to the point I'm predicting it! Yep, a celebration is definitely in order, so Sam, Cuz, and perhaps some others will be joining this wounded rider down at Jan's watering hole this evening, hoisting a few, and big-dogging it a bunch...

The doctor's visit, however, didn't go as smoothly as I'd hoped it would... More testing, poking, and prodding will be necessary, so I'll get to do all of this again the third week of September... Oh well, another curveball...

I ain't overly worried about it, though... dark clouds often have silver linings in my experience, so I'll just wait for the fat lady to sing (or at least clear her throat) before I get uptight... For now, I think I'll just go party some, then go do some serious riding!!! Might even engage in some pondering and such, too...

I sure hope all this doctor testing stuff is just him trying to pay for a new Mercedes, and not something to be concerned about.  coolsmiley (now get your foot off that chair !)  2funny

I'd take another day with the foot!

Just wondering if the "Sam" you speak of...... is the Sam I met. If so, please give him my regards.
I loved his huge back yard along with the lizards and cardinals!

Take care of that foot!!!

Well you do have your priorities straight...........although I hope you put an adequate time gap between the “party” and the “ride”.   Shocked. I know you will.

Hope all goes your way Bruce.  I actually went for my semi annual quarterly checkup yesterday.  Doc had me visiting every three months.  I asked couldn't we make that semi annual and he said and I quote "I guess so but I do have two daughters in college."

Rob,

Anybody's guess at this point. Naturally I do have a 'desired' outcome in mind, but... gotta drag out the drama a bit more... Yes sir! My foot has been removed... and replaced with my tush...

Terry,

You're probably right... but... I have this nagging case of cabin-fever, and my current digs have lost their luster! Before loading our girl this morning, I took the prudent step of putting on my boot beforehand... I would have hated to have wasted all that effort! Anyway, I got the boot on, and everything felt OK, so... Soon as it gets light out, I'll be going KSU...

Yes, that Sam is the one you met... He remains one of the best friends I've ever had, and we usually do still cross paths regularly even though I've moved away from the area... I'll pass along your message the next time I talk to him... which will probably be on the phone today.

Jerry,

Yeah, I do keep some space between the bottle and the throttle... I haven't exactly always been perfect on that score, but I am serious about it! We did party some last night... and I did derive the predictable feedback from my head and body generally... Recovered enough to ride, so... Getting excited about being in the saddle again!

Terry,

Thanks. Yep, doctors got bills to pay, too! Some call for free health care... Nothing is free, since labor and material are needed to add value to anything. If we don't pay out of one pocket, we will pay out of another... No insurance bill? Check your tax statement! We can argue over just how healthcare should be delivered, but there is no argument that there will be a cost... and a price to bear some way, somehow. Thanks for the well wishes... Please tell Iris HBD for me!

Josh,

I do have my eye very much on Labor Day! In fact, in the group of riders I plan to ride out with, not one has cancelled yet! Memorial Day? Ummmm, no plans at all!   coolsmiley

Rob,

You do have an eye for detail! (My foot is still out of the chair, BTW)  cooldude

Dennis,

Yeah, I'm figuring some wind-therapy is just what I need to take the healing process to the next level! Gonna find out here in a few minutes!!!
