Right at the western point on this map.

https://goo.gl/maps/3R9WDYZgj8m

Top of the road on the mountain.

Came down the mountain side ahead on my left.

Looked at me.

Lolloped across the road.
Kept on downhill to my right.

Big bugger.

That's 3 I've seen since Spring.

This one was the furthest away.  cooldude

Bear 1 ran along side my bike for about 3 heartbeats after appearing running up a steep slope out of the trees on my right.  Shocked

I was going downhill through a long sweeping right.

Bear 2 was sitting on the opposite side of the guard rail on the BRP with a big mouth of greens and paws on the guardrail. I was in the right lane and it was over to the left.

My funny bear story is just easy rolling along Skyline drive, when mama bear comes down the hill, trots across ahead of me and back into the woods on the very steep down slope side.  Having stopped, I get ready to go again when baby bear comes flying down behind her at warp speed, leaps into the steep down slope, and can be heard crashing through the undergrowth down the hill like a runaway bowling ball.

A general rule for all motorcycling is to remember most species will travel in groups (not just deer).  When something is in the road, don't just concentrate on it, look behind it for more of them.

Saw one on Skyline Drive several years ago....with the Valk stopped on the side of the road I began taking photos.  With the bear coming my way, he turned over a rock, started eating ants....when I noticed some ants on his nose, I realized he was too close....

We see 'em all the time up here in northwest NJ
