Just finished this book  ,   talks about  over weight and diabetic , intermittent fasting to break the cycle of insulin resistance that causes obesity , or even if you are only 5 , 10 or 20 pounds over what you want to be.

yep. even the human instruction book aka The Bible tells us to fast.  studies show that the day after a one day fast, that testosterone levels double more than the level it was on the day before the fast.

wheat and grain products should be avoided. through history they were a last resort survival food and in cold climate a wintertime survival food. they never were intended to be a daily food of the diet.

The difference between Daniel and most people who want to lose weight...and what made him so successful, was his willingness to work his arse off in the gym...in addition to dietary changes. So many want to just do the diet. You’re much less likely to sit down with a big bag of Doritos if you just sweated your rear off at the gym.  cooldude

This is true, you've got to put in the work...but the diet IS important...you can't outwork a bad diet.

where did I write the Bible commanded people to fast? u need to stop adding to peoples comments, like u have done before to scripture on occasions to others.  I did not write the Bible stated health benefits. I stated modern knowledge about health benefits of fasting. The Bible does state that fasting and praying brings spiritual benefits and healing from suppressions and is recommended by Jesus who did fast. https://biblereasons.com/reasons-for-fasting/

I have not tried fasting. I’ve read a lot on the celebrities who utilize it to gain mass for movies. Hugh Jackman is a good resource for the muscle mass he had to put on at 50+ years young to play the last few wolverine movies.

Next to counting macros, I think he consumed 3-5k calories in an 8 hour window for months on end with a majority being lean proteins. Most of his carbs came from fresh veggies.... that’s a lot of broccoli  Undecided

See your words in bold above.  Telling someone to do something = commanding them to do it.  If I tell my kids to tidy their rooms before turning on the TV, they understand it as a command. Why do I even have to explain this?

Mmmm...also...biblical fitness advice notwithstanding...fasting doesn't have to be anything spectacular...

It basically is to shift your body to burn fat...and combined with exercise is remarkably effective...as in...don't eat after 6pm, and workout in the early morning in a fasted state (water/coffee is fine)...and eat a quality meal with lots of protein afterward (instead of the crap carbs we've been trained to eat)...

There's a lot of science to actually losing significant weight, and shifting to a life that will keep it off....but it doesn't have to be over-complicated.

Over-complication is what we humans do in order to provide an excuse for NOT doing something.

The head-game is the most difficult part.
