It's never too early to begin planning, right?   coolsmiley

The only parts of Utah I've seen are from four corners to Bluff to Moab, up to 70, west to Salina, and west on 50 to Nevada.

Would all of you familiar with the state and its natural wonders please throw out some don't miss suggestions?

TIA!

Four years ago on my way to GOTF I travelled west from Gallup NM   thru Winslow to Flagstaff   That is a lot of nothing but its starkly beautiful, then north to Page and (89) Kenab along the west of what is left of Lake Powell and then down to 9 to pick up Zion

89A is also a great road from 89 after passing just south of Page (Think it is a left turn )

Given another few days I would have wanted to go the national parks to the northeast of that but Zion was awesome and 2 days really isnt enough if you want to do any hiking at all and you really should allow at least a day to walk thru the river and to the end of the marked trail

Not a “road” as per say

Cedar breaks is one of the prettiest things I’ve seen

One could spend a lifetime driving around Utah

Zion National Park. Beautiful.

Plenty of narrow pull offs for a bike to park along with the regular ones.

Flaming Gorge is really worth visiting.  Watch out for the vicious cross winds when riding on top of the bluffs.  I almost got blown off the road many times heading north towards Idaho.  I-80 through Wyoming is another tough ride when the crosswinds are howling.

If you are on an extended trip, then due north out of Taos towards the Great Sand Dunes National Park and the Sangre de Cristo's would be some beautiful roads to ride.  After that a bit west towards South Fork, Pagosa Springs, and circle back south into New Mexico.  Three to four days of nice places to see. Better to be judged by 12, then carried by 6.

We just came from there a month ago. Spent 2 days in Moab which included 4 wheeling in a rented jeep. Fun!  smitten
 128 from Cisco to Moab.
From Moab we took 191 to Blanding and took 95 to Hanksville. Wow what a road! All American Hwy is what someone called it. He was right! Only 1 place for gas on the road and its at the marina. 120 miles from Blanding to Hanksville. Gorgeous road. Prob my fav esp when you get in the canyons near Glen canyon.
24 from Hanksville to Torrey thru Capital Reef, which we didn't have to pay to go thru.  Undecided Torrey is a cool small town. We spent the night there.
12 from Torrey to Bryce Canyon. Wow what a road! High in the mountains and trees thru Grand staircase Escalante'. Sign at the beginning said "motorcycles take caution. Curves next 100 miles"
Then we took 12 to Springdale which is in Zion for the night.

Buy a national park pass. Saved us over $100 buy doing it.

Town of Mexican Hat is neat. Goosnecks state park is cool. Don't do Valley of the Gods on the bike.  Undecided
