Not a cry for help - just googed

In middle of November of last year, I replaced my tires (plus did rear end service and timing belts).  When I got my front tire, I goofed.  Normally I check the built date, but didn't.

So now, some 5k miles later, I did check the built date and got kind of ticked off at myself.  The tire is worn out, and has been replaced.  Normally I get 10-12k out of this tire, have had 3 of them so far.  The date was "4813".   So I have I been riding around on a 4-5 year old tire.  Not good.

I do have sort of an excuse as in November I was planning my Mother's 100 year birthday, fighting the first of 3 bad colds plus a few other problems.  Not good excuses.   So check the built dates on your new tires.
