170 mph on a bicycle?....hell at 30-40 mph on skinny ass tires and wheels--short wheelbase and high CG?....but then I've never parachuted either...you win!

I would be more impress is she got up to that speed without drafting.   Sort of seems like it cheating.

That said, that is pretty fast on two wheels.

It would be impossible with out drafting.  Just look at the horsepower involved creating the draft, hell, she's using a probably 1500 hp (WAG) dragster.

As someone who does drafting and design for a living, I was disappointed to see this thread is about something as mundane as 170MPH bicycling.  :(

Heck, I bet if the right gear ratio was installed in a Valk, it could be used as the drafting vehicle and save them a pot full of money. :cooldude:

The draft stopped on  27 Jan 1973.

That was probably a mistake.

However this factoid is amazing..... According to 2017 Pentagon data, 71 percent of young Americans between 17 and 24 are ineligible to serve in the United States military.  7 in 10 youths would fail to qualify for military service based on minimum fitness standards.

Put another way: Over 24 million of the 34 million people of that age group cannot join the armed forces—even if they wanted to. This is an alarming situation which threatens the country's fundamental national security.
