That is cool.

I remember having to fully suit up for away games, then riding on some crappy school bus for sometimes hours to arrive to play. Sometimes in high heat, you'd be so sleepy you could barely play after you got there. We got to use the girls locker room at halftime, but only very rarely got to use any showers, just clean the mud out of your cleats and helmet ear holes, then back out to the second half. Then back on the bus wet and muddy and whipped for hours back home.
Late season away games were snow and ice and freezing.

PS; a bit of a drift, but did anyone see the Virginia Tech - Old Dominion game? I'm not a big VA football fan, but we get all the local games, and I happened to turn it on late. Old Dominion is a big academic U that doesn't put much into football, and they usually can't beat anyone. They'd already lost their first three games. They had like zero chance against VT.
An unknown backup quarterback (Blake LaRussa, 5'10", 185lbs) comes in and throws 30 of 49 passes for 495 yards and four touchdowns (and ran for another) to lead Old Dominion to a 49-35 upset of No. 13 Virginia Tech. Their stadium looks more like a glorified high school bleachers, and the fans were losing their minds.
And keeping in the spirit of this thread, the Hokies (VT) were not good sports about their thumping, and collected a series of unsportmanlikes and personal fouls as the game spiraled out of control (for 95 yards).
I always love to cheer an underdog, and this was one of the biggest upsets in football history.
I bet very few have ever even heard of the Old Dominion Monarchs.
