They keep saying her story is corroborated.  The "corroboration" they site is the woman, herself, telling other people at different times throughout her adult life.  That's it.

They also said that at those times, she would say that he was a prominent lawyer or a federal judge.  In my opinion, she was following this guy.  She knew of his positions and accomplishments for quite some time because she would bring them up when talking of her supposed past.

Obviously the Dems whole purpose is to delay the confirmation until after the November elections when they hope to regain control of congress. Then they will have the votes to reject Trump's candidates outright.

This is just a sham to facilitate that delay. Trump gave a list of his potential Supreme Court nominees to the press before his election. I'd bet a paycheck the Dems have other accusers waiting in the wings for each and every potential nominee Trump listed. If Trump gives up and brings forth the next candidate, the Dems will do the same thing again leaving even less time to investigate it. If by chance, Kavanaugh is not voted in, Trump needs to appoint someone who is not on that list and whose credentials are already well known. Senator Cruz would be an outstanding choice.

After Kavanaugh is appointed or rejected an investigation should be done. Not on the 36 year old allegations, but to see who lied under oath at the hearing. Whichever one it is should go to prison. If it's Kavanaugh, he's off the court and on the way to prison. If it was her, perhaps the threat of prison will force her to divulge who paid her. That would drain a little more of the swamp

IF any new charge or accusation comes out in the next week, it better have video and ironclad evidence good enough for immediate indictment........ or it should be rejected out of hand.  And vote.

What cannot (be allowed to) happen, is to have an investigation take off with a life of it's own in some perpetuity like Mueller's Fishing Expedition.

  Giving the dems a full week to trot out more accusers ,  then they will demand that these new accusers have the right to be heard  .  This is ALL about delaying the vote because Kavanaugh is Pro life . If he had been Pro choice you wouldnt know who Ford was . It was almost amusing that ther Democrat senators kept pushing Judge Kavanaugh to request an FBI investigation.

The accusation involved no specific time or place.  An investigation could possibly contribute to proving guilt but could in no way prove innocence.

That brings up another point.  People like to quote innocent until proven guilty.  That's incorrect.  If a person does wrong he is guilty as soon as he has done wrong.  The purpose of the court is to determine, to discover, guilt not to be the place guilt initiates.  The phrase dictates not innocence or guilt but guides the court's behavior.  The phrase is actually presumed innocent until proven guilty.  To that end, a court does not determine innocence.  A court determines whether there is enough proof to declare guilt.  Thus one on trial is declared guilty or not guilty rather than guilty or innocent.

Smart move if you ask me though unexpected by me. I'm hoping that they can come back with a clean slate, nothing to back up all the claims. If he is innocent it's all they can find if they strictly by facts. You can call it a she said, he said, it's already that but when they get their investigation it will be their turn to " shut up and step up".

I think this is not so much on Ford, but on the Bolsheviks (dems), and Hate Trump Syndrome Combine.  It's possible Ford is a complete knowing, conspiring liar, but I think it's more probable a case of the Dems using a troubled, mentally ill person (who may indeed have been molested as she described decades ago, and has somehow convinced herself that it was the good judge, but it wasn't).  

And she slipped right into their clutches with her ill-advised letter to Feistein, and was used like a sacrificial lamb by the hate-Trump, and by association the hate-Kavanaugh program.  This is precisely what the good Judge plainly laid out in the beginning of his opening statement (except he left Ford out of it).  The good judge cannot know if Ford is a knowing liar (or simply deluded) and wisely did not attack (but instead prayed with his children for) her.  

Unless through some miracle Ford admits lying, or says she is no longer certain if it was the good Judge (but see, perjury), the Republicans and the President will also likely not make any attack on Ford whatsoever (only on the unfortunate lack of any credible evidence of any kind, beyond her story), but only on the deserving Bolsheviks and their combine.

You can say the Republicans have lacked spine in this matter, but you can also say they have bent over backwards to accommodate Ford (and unfortunately the Bolsheviks too) who while wholly lacking any significant case against the good judge, has presented a seemingly heartfelt plea about some remote event that she thoroughly believes.  The Republicans cannot simply ignore the female vote in any elections to come (and right shortly too).  

I just hope this last (and hopefully final) accommodation does not backfire on them.  A week and no more, and then an up or down vote on confirmation.  If they get a confirmation (and I pray they do), they will still incur the insane wrath of the Hate Trump Combine, but at least they will have given Ford every chance to prove her case and more than reasonable due process.  Whether all this does them any good with female voters (and moderates) will remain to be seen.

I can barely stand to watch the TV anymore, and again today was not surprised to see the bulk of the mainstream commentary solidly against the angry and combative Kavanaugh and the Republicans and the President.  The day after one of the worst political train-wreck hatchet jobs ever levied against one of the finest men ever produced in America (and his family), and against the people of the United States (by the Democratic Party), it's business as usual for the hate-Trump Combine.

If the Dems stand behind their claims of support for the FBI and it's employees and those employees come back and tell them that they investigated Fords claim including the witnesses she put forth as being there ( wherever that was) and they find no corroboration anywhere it will be game over on Fords story where it concerns Kavanaugh.
