OK, all you older folks....that would be just about anybody over 70. There was a radio program years ago, believe it came on Sunday evenings, and I recall it was more or less musical in nature. It may possibly have also been a TV program. It was a weekly program and at the end with its sign-off, it played a short section of an old song to signify the end...."the song has ended, but the melody lingers on." Can anyone recall the name of that program, it's been driving me nuts....granted, that in itself is a rather short drive!  Wink  It may be a bit different from what I remember, memories fade a bit with the years but I distinctly recall that bit of the song being played at the end of each program.

Those lyrics are from an old irving berlin tune John

It was also sung by Ella Fitzgerald and others   If you have serrious fm there is a station that plays old radio shows that I listen to daily on the way home.  Tomorrow I will check out the name of the dude that hosts and betya he will know right off the bat

I listen to suspense, jack benny or burns and allen show, fibber mcgee, dragnet, whatever is playing on the ride home  Lots of good fun most airing between 42 and  1956
