It looks like it wont be raining tomorrow and will be above freezing. Want to finally meet for a ride?

Cant do it today, too many chores  Will be on my 01 Valk

Going to go up the goat trail and across Bear Mtn Bridge probably around 11am. Can meet you just south next to the Hessian Lake sign on 9W

It was a nice ride this morning after mowing the lawn for probably the last time for 2018.

Said goodbye to the wife and put on my heated jacket liner and gloves on the lowest setting and went south to top off the gas tank at the local gas station. Then,  with the trusty 2001 Valkyrie fully gassed up we headed north toward the goat trail. There was ice on the sides of the rock walls but none on the road. I felt truly relaxed and it showed in the lines I took and the speed I was able to just mosey along.

It was 41 degrees just a kiss of a breeze and bright sunshine really just a wonderful day for riding.  Saw just one other motorcycle on the way north plus a couple on a white bmw at the top of Perkins Drive

It was so clear you could easily see a good deal of the Manhattan Skyline.  After coming down from Perkins I headed to the Palisades Parkway and just did that at a steady 70 enjoying the colors that are still left. Most of the leaves fell over the past 2 days with that high wind and rain.

At Hempstead rd I got off and went to the Kosher Deli for a Hot Corned beef and pastrami on rye with a crispy hot potato pancake. YUMMY indeed.  Then blasted back over the TZ bridge and up the Saw Mill Parkway to home.  No cops out  police  no traffic.

Thank you to all of our veterans for allowing us to be free.

I managed to get in a similar ride about a week ago.
I took 9W up to Newburgh for lunch then returned to Nanuet where I met another friend and took another ride through Seven lakesbike.  Total about 180 miles it was a great day!
I don't really have any cold weather gear and frankly I a wimp in the cold (I hate the cold!).
I'm hoping the weather will allow another ride or two before I have to lay the bike up for the Winter.
I working on cleaning my in-laws garage out to store the bike there for the Winter.  I was hoping to buy a trailer at some point to store the for the Winter but I didn't find the right deal.  At some point I will find something.  I would also like to buy an IS trunk but I refuse to over pay so it may be a while.

Do you know if the cliff road north of the Washington Gate for West Point still open?  Thinking about riding there next weekend if I dont head up to BigW's  in Wingdale for some BBQ lunch (or maybe do both)

If the weather is nice I might consider a ride.  I don't have any heated gear!

I got the tourmaster heated jacket liner and gloves which I wear under the hit-air mesh jacket

Never cold again, in fact I rarely turn on the jacket liner just the gloves

For the feet if I will be out for hours under 40 degrees I use disposable toe warmers you can get at any cabella's or sporting goods store or amazon  Put em under the toes so I can ride with the highway pegs and be comfortable down below freezing temps
