I had 2 burned out incandescent bulbs in my IS instrument cluster and it was very hard to read the gauges at night, so since it is snowing in MI, I ordered these
https://www.superbrightleds.com/moreinfo/instrument-cluster-gauge/74-led-bulb-3-smd-led-miniature-wedge-retrofit-car/228/1067/
from superbright LEDs and replaced them.

Here is the result:

I used the cool 6500k white bulbs but they are available in other colors.

Looks good, maybe drill some 2 inch holes and put a couple behind the Steelers emblems on the pods..
The most expensive things you will purchase, are those things you would not have needed if you had listened and obeyed.

Just to confirm, this was for the cluster lights (speed/tach), not the oil/stand lights?

I see you have the same TPMS I have too, still up and charged. How long so far since the first charge? I think mine was May. Around $63 CAD.

Enjoy the ride!

I installed the same LEDs but in blue.  Nowhere near as bright, so I'm getting a new set of the white ones.

Correct, these are the Instrument Cluster bulbs.  If you install them and they don't light, turn the base 180* to reverse the polarity.  That TPS monitor was charged last in October, it seems to hold a charge well.  I just looked up the order, $52 on amazon.

I put in the red LED's, they look really good. The pic came out a little orange but it is a real deep red.

Is the # 74 bulb in your instruments the same # bulb in the small running light in the trunk?

Here is the data from the chart with the specs of each of the color options for the 74 LED Bulb - 3 SMD LED - Miniature Wedge Base from SuperBrightLEDs.com.  All are $1.95 each

Cool White, 6500K, 17 lumens
Warm white, 3300K, 16 lumens
Blue, 465nm, 2.5 lumens
Green, 519nm, 13 lumens
Amber, 590nm, 3.5 lumens
Red, 630 nm, 5 lumens

So of all the colors available, the blue are the dimmest and the cool white are the brightest.  I wish I'd scrolled down to find this chart when I bought the first set.  I like the blue but I need the brighter light for these aging eyes.  :)

How bright are they at a quick glance? I like the red.

You have a light in your trunk ? Mine doesn't . Got a pic ? Sounds like a good idea.

I believe he is talking about the tail light bulb. He calls it a running light, which it is unless it is not original factory lighting.

How many Bulbs are needed and how easy is it to get to them?  I also assume they won't generate radio interference?  I installed LED's in my turn Signals and Break lights and it's causing some static on the Radio.

There are 4 bulbs in the instrument cluster, as far as ease to get to them, remove the speaker covers and you will see the screws that hold the cluster in place (4 I believe).  I t may help to loosen the handle bar clamp and rotate the bars out of the way a little.  Protect you tank with a towel or pad in case the bars slip, Tighten the clamp to hold them out of the way until you reassemble everything.  Once the cluster is loose, you can disconnect the wire harness, the bulbs are behind 4 black rubber plugs on the rear of the cluster.  Remove the plugs and rotate the bulb holders to remove them from the cluster.  Reverse process to reassemble.  Don't know about radio interference, haven't played it since the change.

PS- You may want to pull up a parts fiche if you are not familiar with the cluster for reference.

Is there really any point to converting the Bulbs in the Indicator lights on Instrument Cluster?  Also if I wanted to are they the same bulb type as the Speedo and whatnot and what colors would I need?  I think it's 2 Amber, 1 Blue, 1 Green, and 2 Red?

I never looked into the indicator bulbs, They aren't on much so I don't really care about them.  As far as color goes, I may be wrong, but I believe the color comes from the indicator lens, not the bulb, if so clear should work in all positions.

I'm picking up my IS bulbs tomorrow (I hope) and installing them (if they're the right ones).

I'm trying to get a before and after picture of the dash, and since it's in the darkened garage, I think the pictures should show it off nicely. (you just may have to wait till sunday till I post)

The indicator bulbs are already LEDs soldered to a PCB.

Here is an update to my reply about putting in the red LED's, I was out the other evening and found myself riding after dark, I don't ride much anymore after dark, but I didn't like the red LED's, they made it very hard to read anything on the dash panel, they looked good in my garage but not out on the road, next time I have my fairing off I will change the center ones back to white.
