Glenn is back in the saddle again.

Glenn has been looking for a Goldwing for the last year after selling his BMW 1200. I received an email from him on Friday that he just bought a 2015 Red and Black Goldwing. Today, we took a ride up to Yarnell and had breakfast at the Ranch House. The weather was great. We had a good time and Glenn got to put 150 miles on his Wing.

Congratulations Glenn, on your new bike and looking forward to putting on some miles on that new bike with you. I have included some pics of Glenn's new steed.

Very cool bike and the color is fantastic. I currently have a '99 Tourer which I keep up in Prescott and a 2006 Kawasaki Vulcan 2000 LT that lives in Phoenix. Thinking of selling one of them and picking up a Goldwing. I have never driven a Goldwing, how does the ride and handling compare to the older Valks?

The valkyrie was ahead of its time back in 2008 when I bought mine. The goldwing takes it up a few more notches. It just does everything well. Typical honda smooth.  Try it, you will like it!

You will be surprised at how nimble they are

I have heard that they are nimble, but really concerned about the ride, especially for the passenger, my wife. She thinks the Valk is a bit rough. I have new progressive 444's on her, and brand new Avon Cobra 200 on the rear and the 150 on front. Would rather sell the Kawasaki than the Valk, but she likes the ride of the Kawasaki better.

So.. how does the ride of the Golding compare to the Valk?

I think she is going to like it, but don't take my word I'm sure you could rent one for a day somewhere in Phoenix. My wife use to fall a sleep on the back while we were riding. I thought it was just her, put I took my niece out for a day ride and she fell a sleep also. I have other friends that ride with their wives and they fall a sleep. I know we must be a bunch of boring guys.   That being said I never have rode on the back of a Goldwing, so I don't know from personal experience just what I have been told.

Brenda has also fallen asleep on the back of a GW, an Interstate, and also a Standard. She liked the seat warmer on the GW. I think Ron's idea of renting one for a day is an excellent idea. It will also give you a chance to see how you like it.

Donna much prefers the new Wing over my Valkyrie.  Claims she is never getting on the Valkyrie after ridding on the back of the Wing.   So I Supervalked the Valkyrie.
