Who’s the genius that thought I wanted to watch 7 different screens of the NASCAR race today?
And 1 of them is advertisements for NBCSN and next years races it covers.
I stopped going to races when the prices for anything to do with them skyrocketed.
Stopped watching & going to NFL games when the commies and flakes kneeled and goodell couldn’t find his balls.
Now 7 screens to watch a race?
NOPE
F-in done

Rant over,
Craig

AND no offense to present company, but why is there a Brit on the broadcast team? If it’s a NASCAR race, all I want to hear is rednecks talking!!

Race?

What race?

I stopped watching NASCAR a couple of years ago.  Sometimes I'll put it on as background noise.

When I do see a couple of laps, based on the empty seats, it seems a lot of people have walked away.

I tape and FF the Patriots games, but since they let that SF Cheerleader kneel, twice, I'm done.

Wow. 7 screens to watch a race? Most racist thing I've ever heard. Need to go back to football and go back to being a gamist.

I beg to differ Craig. I don't know about that guy in particular, but I know firsthand Australia has rednecks.  Wink

You should have tuned your tv to NBC. You were watching the Nascar pitpass broadcast. It was on network TV.

Phantom yellows-stages-eliminating drivers as they countdown to the last race. Racing changed for me FOREVER when Dale Sr-#3-driver died. And I M H O nascar made F U B A R a good Racing situation when they attempted-but Never succeeded in doing-"fixing" something that weren't broken. dumb asses. RIDE SAFE.

never really understood watching an entire nascar race where they keep going around and around the same oval track.  Is like watching Golf or Baseball,  can only watch bits and pieces before I get bored.  I would not mind seeing either one Nascar or Indy 500 LIVE event in person just to say I done it, but pretty sure one would be  enough for me but at the cost of a ticket nowadays and me being a tightwad,  I probably would never blow that kind of money.

I have been to Lambeau field twice when Brett Favre was playing end zone seats group rate on a tour bus thru wife's company work social not a bad deal around 30 bucks each or so which included food/drink/ticket/bus ride, but know for a fact cannot even come close to that price nowadays.  I think overall the price of most sporting events have gone way above my paycheck increases over the years to justify even considering spending big bucks for 3-4 hours of mediocre enjoyment.

Sometime, over a couple of different trips, I'd like to see one of each of a number of different sporting events in the US, preferably with near-capacity crowds:
A NASCAR race,
A big NHRA drag racing event,
An NFL football game (yeah, I'm aware of the current kneeling controversy, and I hope that when I eventually see a game, it will be about the game, not the politics),
A Major League Baseball game,
and, with my wife, the Kentucky Derby.

Sorry, I'm not really interested in college sports, basketball, tennis, "professional" wrestling, or golf.

sad to say but have probably seen more professional wrestling matches LIVE in person than say football or baseball, although still can count them all on one hand.... 2funny   Tennis would be o.k. to watch since I like playing tennis and was at one time very good at it (still o.k. am sure but rusty), but never understood GOLF.  Hitting a ball and chasing after it trying to find it, then hit it again and again....  To watch Golf on TV for more than a few minutes bores me beyond belief - to each their own I guess???  Could have something to do with me sucking at Golf since have little patience for attempting to find my golf ball once I hit it, plus the cost of playing is too much.

And before that, Mark Twain said, "Golf is a good walk, spoiled".

Get the list of drivers and their numbers, even if you have to buy a $15 program.

Pay especial attention at the start of the race so you know who the leaders are.

After a few laps when the leaders start lapping the others, you'll know who the leaders
are, there's always plenty of interesting things happening around them...

Mike it is hard to explain to someone who has never seen one live. The smell the rumble you feel all through your body as they pass by at 200 mph. You just gotta see it for yourself to understand.

I totally agree. Also, never understood why one would watch an entire NFL game for about 3 hours  when you can find out who won after the game with a time investment of about 3 seconds. cooldude
