Retired snowbird here, Black Hills, SD & SE FL....  Decided last summer to not tow our two Harley's back'n'forth anymore, makes the 2300 mile trip even longer.  In Florida we don't really ride that much anymore (the SE part of FL is boring and dangerous), so bought the wife a lightly used Suzuki Boulevard and finally scratched a long time itch for myself.  So... 'Val' is a turquoise and black 98 Tourer bought from a friend who just didn't ride it much over the 6 years he's had it.  Started it and fuel just poured out.  All Stop!  So it is now in the hands of good mechanic getting all the carbs redone, brake flush, full service, and few other parts replaced I deemed looking aged, brake lines, choke cable etc.  Ordered a RIVCO adapter for my J&S jack.  It's still pretty clean, look forward to detailing it up.  I'll post pictures when I'm done.  Really looking forward to riding it, digging around the forums just hoping it lives up to all the hype I'm reading!

Don't forget to follow the Florida (sub) Board on this site.  It's a pretty large and active group of gentlemen.  Some excellent Valk mechanics too.  Welcome.

Dave Ritsema

Welcome! You might consider timing belts also.

The only problem I see with your scenario,
You may re-think the Harley's after you get the fat girl up and running. (lol)
Have fun,

First welcome, then I will tell you after you ride the Valk and you get back to
your Harley you are in for a surprise.
After you do all maintenance  it should run smoother than  you are used  to.
I find when I go back to my street glide and  twist the wick all the way I find
myself asking is that all there is?

Welcome and I assure you you, no hype when it comes to the Valkyrie.

Fazer

Let me add my welcome as well.  You will love the Valk and this forum.  It is a great way to get help with the bike.  Not many dealers will work on them any longer, and there is nothing you can't do yourself with the help available on the VRCC board.  Make sure you run thru the Shoptalk topics accessed at the top of the page.  Loads of helpful info.
Nothing in moderation...

Pappy!

Welcome from Lake County Florida!
I used to live in Stuart back when it was amazing! Little traffic and great people. Little did I know what was in store for the town.
As has been said....join the Florida board and chime in. We ride a lot and go places almost every weekend we can.
