Wasn't it just 5 years ago that 2 democratic senators were recalled over their gun control policies? WTH happened in 5 years that Colorado would allow this?

BTW, this is coming from someone in Massachusetts, with arguably the worst, most convoluted firearm laws in the country.

With patently unconstitutional local ordinances like this, if I was the sheriff/police chief for Boulder, I'd turn over all evidence of ordinance violations (if I bothered collecting any) to the eight City Counsel members so they could go around enforcing it personally (since they feel so strongly about it).  He could even lend them some ballistic vests (and billy clubs and a bullhorn) to build up their confidence.  (But nothing with the PD logo on it.)

I suppose the sheriff/police chief would like to keep his job.  He could always argue enforcing this ordinance is in direct violation of his oath of office and the US Constitution. (Maybe CO's constitution too, I dunno)

These ordinances/laws are always designed to be self enforcing, giving gun owners (known and unknown) deadlines to transfer listed firearms/mags out of the jurisdiction (and some places, you have to ask permission to move registered firearms out of the jurisdiction), or destroy them, or turn them in (for no money) before confiscation and indictment/prosecution commences.  They hope for universal compliance with little or no enforcement necessary (fools and idiots).  OF course these ordinances work so much better when they are preceded by universal registration of all firearms.

The last time the Colorado liberal lawmakers came up with unconstitutional laws the Sheriffs of almost all counties declared they wouldn't enforce it.  That was on the magazine limits IIRC.  That was totally stupid and unenforcable anyway.  They grandfathered previous ownership of larger magazines. Yet there are no dates or serial numbers on magazines.  All it did was cause inconvenience for gunners to dodge the stupid law and inspire Magpul to move out.

I'm surprised I've heard nothing on local or national news about this Boulder BS.  I'll google it and see...
