And their true freshman QB, and acrobat receivers. (AND defense) Honorable mention. And Dabo gives a great post game interview, during which he says.... out here in wherever the heck in California we are.

I had that same thought last night when I saw him without helmet walking the sidelines. Sunshine Ronnie Bass. I actully remember when he played quarteback at another South Carlolina school, University of South Carolina. Man the future is bright for this kid, just an awesome performance.

We live in Seneca, SC which is only 7 miles from Clemson. We are definitely going to the Victory parade tomorrow. Awesome year again. I just want to know. Why were we ranked #2 all year long again? Lol.

Only reason they won was, Bama saw all that orange and thought they were playing the Vols Clemson came ready to play, congratulations to the coach and entire team on the big win.

The best teams won.
However, Notre Dame should not have been in the final four.
Ohio State should have been in as #4, with Oklahoma #3.
Yeah, the Buckeyes had one loss and ND didn't, but if you wanted the four best teams that didn't matter.
The thing is, they still give more credit for won-loss over actual best teams.
I'm not a fan of an 8 or 16 team playoff, these guys are still in school and need to graduate (if they don't run to the pros their senior year).
I'm also not a big fan of guys (Sr's or Jr's) sitting out the bowl to save themselves for the draft. On the one hand, college doesn't pay, and the NFL pays huge (and careers until injury are short) and college players are not owned by their teams, but on the other hand, a full ride college scholarship at top universities and free room and board (and football team food over dorm food) is nothing to be sneezed at financial wise. It would be a simple matter to prohibit sitting out games (if healthy) when scholarships are initially offered. Who will turn them down?
That many top players at the top 20 schools sat out directly impacted the outcomes of multiple games. Note how the vaunted Clemson defense included multiple guys who not only didn't sit out the game, but also didn't declare for the draft and finished school and came back for their teams. Dabo Swinny's coaching style and Clemson's team atmosphere made that happen, when other program's corporate approach didn't make that happen.
Great players play great football, but great teams win championships.

The better team won That young quarterback is more mature than Tua and kept his composure A pleasure to watch him work.
I would like to see 1 less game before playoff, maybe eliminate the league champ game and one extra week of your playoffs.
Same number of games, longer playoff to give great teams chance to take it all

Could not agree more Oss, my sentiments exactly. I would suggest 12 teams with top 4 getting a bye. 1st and second round games would be at the highest ranked home field. Then incorporate final four into major bowls like they do now. The lower 3 tiers of college football have been doing this forever with up to 32 teams, I believe involved.

Follow the money and you will begin to understand why Bama and Clemson are perennial powerhouses. That’s being said, Dabo understands how to build a team and get the kids to buy in, that’s for sure. That freshman receiver was the best player coming out of Alabama, that has to piss Saban off big time, and he came out and said, once he saw the atmosphere at Clemson, it was a no brainer.
