I'm glad that you, John, have had successful surgery done. Hopefully, as encouragement, I'd like to mention my experiences in a doctor/ hospital setting. I'm still here at going on 91.
In 2017 I had my third surgery for bladder cancer. This cancer, by the way, is like skin cancer, no radiation, no chemo, just an aggravation so far but needs to be removed.
In the process for surgery on this, the surgeon did a TURP (easier to pee). Since I couldn't pee after surgery, they inserted a catheter which resulted in a MRSA infection. Two catheters later, and walking around with a bag on my leg, and two months of special antibiotic took care of that.............finally. I won't even talk about what happened when I peed.
I kinda laughed when the talk is about dignity when a catheter is used. Yes, the dignity is violated and the pain is bad but not as bad as a followup cystoscopy using what seems to be a humongous tool to look into the bladder. I've had 27 cystoscopys as followup in the last 16 years. Another one is due next month. Hell, I don't even talk about dignity anymore. I've gotten used to it (the pain, not so much)
Why am I telling you this.? It'll pass and you'll be back to normal and will stick around for years, John.
I'm still here to remind you.

Wayne, thanks for the note here. I'm tagging along 10 yrs. back, turn 81 in April which I believe was your month as well if memory serves. I'm not giving up riding for sure, that's why I just finished going over the forks and brakes of the bike....now 20 yrs. old. Replaced all the seals & bushings, water pump seals, all three coolant hoses, rebuilt both front calipers and added new pads. New plugs also. Runs great, should last as long as I'll be riding now, in fact I hope I have to pull the rear down for service later this year and maybe a new rear tire before I'm done. You probably know by now that Bruce(DDT) and I are traveling down a similar road re. the prostate, that will follow in a few weeks. Another procedure I'm not turning cartwheels over. But....I'm still riding in the meantime.

I was riding at Inzane XVI just 3 weeks after surgery to remove that same problem and I have been told the other solutions for that problem have even less impact on daily life. Still wishing you the very best.

John, my brother-in-law had the radioactive seeds planted about 14 years ago and he's doing well, no occurrence. My Urologist examines me at regular intervals and so far, no prostate problems.
One of our Korean War vet had prostate cancer and he's doing ok at 87. Another had serious bladder cancer and he too, is doing ok, he's 88.
I wish that I was in Florida, these Indiana winters get me down, tho.

Wayne go visit John and you wont be in those Indiana winters Come on down for a visit, we have an extra couple bedrooms not being used. We can sit out back and watch the golfers go by while doing a little sipping, free entertainment by some of them. Being from Iowa I know all about those drab midwest winters. Been down here 52 yrs. this month, don't think I could handle a northern winter again.
