It’s truly a miracle. These stories seldom end well. And this one isn’t all roses, that’s for sure. But she is alive and as well as can be expected.

Just a perfect case for a death penalty sentence (but Wisconsin has none since 1953).

Double murder and kidnapping will easily earn a life sentence.  No mention of rape (87 days of hell), but no reason to make the poor girl discuss it on the witness stand.

He'll probably plead out anyway.

Nothing being put in general population can't fix.

That's what garden hoses (in winter) are for.

As far as mental toughness, she didn't have much choice.

The part of the story we never need to hear, is how she managed her emotions and demeanor with the maggot to avoid being killed for 87 days.

Elizabeth Smart managed 9 months of daily rape (and neither of her captors got the needle either  ).

Fill one hand with that hope and the other with payment for her story and see which one fills up first.  
I say that knowing the experience she has gone through is not one that I would wish on anyone but, it has happened and I see no reason she should not get something out of it.

Her captor should be put to death or placed in the General Population.   (Should he be found guilty.)
