ust to let you all know home from sugery around 12 noon. everthing went will they did run into a small proglem that they didn't fore see. the disc had splintered into two small pieces so they had to move the nerve out of the way to remove the two pieces. and trim the disc back then put the nerver back in place. So with all that never movement in the Dr.'s words the never is really tick off and is going to let me know.

In leaving the hospital it was hard moving the right leg cause of the pain but i was standing stright up and walking with little pain. nothing like before.

got home had some dinner layed down to sleep it off and when i woke i walkded to the bath roon stight up and wth little to no pain. right now feeling great have not even taken any pain pill. have some restrictions for about two weeks so this old man is back in the saddle and ready to get it on.

I am curious Steve on exactly what your surgery was and what were your options.  Does this have anything to do with Spinal Stenois?

I've had two back surgeries....both a great success     I have no more restrictions .   I am a little wiser now and don't push the limits on picking up heavy stuff.     VERY IMPORTANT!!! DO WHAT THE DOCTOR TELLS YOU TO DO!!     Your biggest enemy at this point is yourself.   During recovery  If the doc says to not do this or that....dont do it .  If he says don't pick up no more than 5 lbs.....don't do it even if you feel like you can....there is a reason to his thinking.     Good luck with it.....praying for a speedy and complete recovery.

Good to hear you're recovering well.

I guess I'm not in the same boat as most of your friends.  Doctors don't give me orders.  I pay them and they give me advice.  When a doctor advises me to not ride I usually ask if he has any experience.  I can feel my own body certainly better than can he.  It is a good idea to not push too hard too soon.  Let the body work on repairing itself.

That's a great suggestion and should be considered by anyone experiencing back trouble.  My wife uses one and it has helped her immensely.  Your PT office probably has one.  Probably wise to check with them first.

Steve

I've had 3 back surgeries for fractured vertabrae and rode to Virginia last year.  The good news is, back surgery is so much more advanced than before and you will be back on the bike before long.  Do what you're told by the doctor or face the consequences from the family, not the doc.

You gotta' get better so that the country doesn't go into a drought!

Dear Mr. Eads,
Please do as the Dr. suggest for the first few weeks.
I would like to share wind (or maybe have you laugh at me sliding down a dew slicked hill after too many adult beverages) with you again.  cooldude hopefully sometime this spring/summer. Always enjoy your company.  cooldude

not a problem sure don't want any more pain like this.  2 mounths of pain 24- 7 is enought to last a live time. it is winter snow every where just going set back and take easy and get back in shape  and yes have always enjoyed sharing the wind and your company. cooldude
