I believe the Patriots will win.  They are used to the weather that has been forecasted.  I don't see how a high flying team like the Chiefs won't be adversley affected by the conditions.  The Pats have been in big games for a decade, have the best quarterback of all time and a coaching genius in Belichek.  They are the Yankees of the football world. A dynasty. "Damn Patriots" should be a movie.

They are consistently the best coached football team so hard to bet against them.  Even if there is only 1 second on the clock, Brady finds a way to win the big games.

I want the Chiefs to win.  But I think the Patriots will.

congrats to the RAMS defeating the Saints,   they played just well enough to win with a winning 57 yard field goal.  Each team had their chances to win though.

Would be nice to see someone different up there so RAMS vs. CHIEFS are my picks to the big dance.

Tom Brady and Drew Breese do not have many more years left to get to the big game, but they both have been there before so let someone else win one for a change...

You don't get this performance by letting a few lbs out of a ball, IF he ever did it.

How do you beat the Chief's offense?

Ball control.  36 first downs.  Time of possession - 44min to 21min - 94 plays to 47 plays.

How did the Lions ever beat them?   2funny

darn it,  Brady is almost unstoppable.  38 total points new record just in 4th qtr. alone and then in OT both games today - both very good games.

wanted chiefs but their defense ran out of steam in OT.    Sure hope the Rams can beat the Patsies but doubt it.

THAT was one of the best games I've seen my Pats play in a long time. They've really stepped it up over the last four games or so.

WOW !

The Chiefs are the team I was most worried about. That Mahomes kid is phenomenal! We're going to be seeing him for a long time to come. The best way to beat his is to keep him on the bench, and that's what the Pats did tonight....

In reality, that game was won by the overtime coin toss.

The chiefs would have done the same thing the pats did, if they had won the toss.

Mahomes has serious skill, just needs more experience.

Brady's ability to change the play, once he sees the defense line up, is key.

Plus the coaches allowing that.

I enjoyed Romo's commentary, coming from the quarterbacks angle.

Mr. Bighead, I understand your feelings, I have conflict over that, but I'm not going to allow some scumbags to stop me from something I enjoy.

The vast majority of the players do not/did not kneel.

It's sucks the saints lost the game on a non call.

The coin flip was big, but Brady just picked apart that defense. I think Romo is the best announcer in football these days.

I played and love football.  I have always preferred college over pro football.  I only ever watched a few pro games, mostly my home team (growing up) Lions, who seem to have been mediocre forever.  After the kneeling started, I stopped watching pro almost entirely.  But I might watch a few plays or the highlights on ESPN.

I think the clear majority of NFL players and staff disrespect the kneelers as much as we do.

I thought the AFC playoff Pats and Chiefs was the real super bowl with the two best teams.  I was a moth drawn to the flame, and watched the 2d half.  mea culpa

Well the Lions were the team along with the Browns in the 50's.  Neither has made a Superbowl and dang few playoff wins.  For the Lions the Ford family should sell the team and get some kind of Voo doo person to nix that curse jinx of Bobby Layne.   Maybe with the Lions, Browns, and Bills ( who at least made 4 straight Superbowls it is the jinx of Lake Erie.

It was evident from the start of Belichicks game plan.  Control the ball with running game and dink and dunk passes to possession receivers. Avoid the shootout of earlier game this year.  On defense bring the heat to Mahommes and keep him off balance with no rhythm.   It paid off big time in overtime when the Chiefs were wore down and could not stop them.  Maybe had the coin flip went the other way the Chiefs would be celebrating.  A game should not be determined by a coin flip.  In the playoffs change the rules to each team gets a possession unless the defense scores.   That Mahommes has a bright future with a rocket quick arm and uncanny ability to deliver the ball with accuracy from throwing positions no other quarterback seems to have, at least not like him.

This I would agree with.   Both offenses should have an opportunity to score.   The flip of a coin should not determine such events.  Had the Chiefs won the toss, the way they were firing on all cylinders (offensively), the team that scored first would have been the Chiefs.  Though I would have pulled for the Chiefs, Brady is a class act IMHO.

All this is based on post game comments I viewed or read.   Didn't watch and, won't be watching the SB either.   I don't watch any professional sports (on purpose) but do love college games.

The folks I feel bad for are the Saints, they got robbed based on post game reports.

My third season not watching .  I  know a lot of vets that still watch , I know a lot more that will not ever watch again .   I know they have the right to kneel , I know I have heard some say it is very patriotic to disagree and that is why we served to preserve the right , the freedom to disagree,  all true .  Most vets I talk to view the disrespect much differently than civilians do .   I just cant bring myself to watch anymore and probably never will again.   I dont even miss it anymore . JMHO .

But hope springs eternal, and anyway, you know you're a fan when you pull for a perennial loser/middlin' team.  It easy to pull for regular champions.

as said,  Romo does a good job as commentator knows what he is talking about.

Yes,  the Saints got robbed and was definitely not right.  Refs making bad calls all the way around deciding the outcome of the game - something has to be done about that.

I do believe the Superbowl was chiefs vs. patsies but one never knows, the Rams could pull the upset, but highly doubt it.

I agree the Saint's were (very probably) robbed.

But if they start allowing challenges for NO-CALLs, the games may go another 2 hours (a lot of which would be commercials).  (they would have to be limited, just like they are now)

The limitation could be a limited amount of challenges to no calls where the challenging teams risk losing a down, yardage or as is currently done, a time out.   The challenging coach normally has a pretty good idea on whether or not he has a good chance of winning the challenge.  Both teams already have coaches watching the same (If not more) of the replays we see on TV.   Refs might even be restricted to a 30 second or a one minute review time and required to either make a call or not from what they see.  Might add a few minutes but not much.

Either that or go back to where no replays are allowed and live/die with the results.

As to the original question, I guess I would have to say it looks like the Patriots will be going to the Sbowl.

That game was decided on a couple of moments.  One was when the Pats were able to hold the Chiefs to a field goal to tie.  The second was who won the toss.  With spent defenses and strong offenses whichever team won that toss was going to score.

The best defense against the Patriots and Brady is to have a great offense that keeps Brady on the bench for as much of the game as possible.

The Patriots are that good and are simply relentless. The history supports that.

As to the Saints getting robbed.

The no call didn't have any impact on the path the game was on.
There should have been a call of pass interference and the call should have had an impact on the game.

But no call, no impact.

There is no fix to this nor is one needed. The Game should be called from the perspective of the officials. This is how it was and as it should be.

The idea that we should review no calls is insane. This would require a review of every play, every interaction between every player for the duration of each play. Every hold, every infraction, no matter how trivial ( I guarantee it won't be trivial to one side) must then be evaluated and reviewed before the next play can proceed.

I don't even like replay reviews for any calls. In any sport. Yes the officials get calls wrong. Life is like that. Get over it play on.

I see no valid reason they can't change the rules to let that be one of their challenges.
