Music lov'n, piano play'n, artistic dudes and dudettes, here's something special just for you.
Ok, here's the deal, I have access to a Baby Grand Piano, I have no where to put it and couldn't play it if I did.
You want one, I can provide it at the price of a life time. I don't want it, I have even less musical talent than those sing'n chipmunks or those dogs that bark Christmas songs. If you have a way to transport it, it's a jaw dropping offer. It's supposed to be a good one, I have absolutely no idea. If interested, give me a shout.
Oh yeah, it's located in central Indiana.

The Mrs would love it, but I'm pretty sure the freight charges wouldn' t be loved quite as much. Used full sized pianos are a tough sell these days. We had a beautiful upright made in 1919 for over 20 years in our old house. It still played wonderfully and was a beautiful piece of furniture, but we could not fit it into our new house when we moved 2 years ago. Couldn't sell it, couldn't give it away without paying the piano movers fees ourselves.... luckily the young couple that purchased our old house wanted it so we were able to leave it where it was.
Just picked up a new portable Yamaha digital piano for the Mrs to play...doesn't take up the space and today's technology gives a sound to rival many full sized ones.
Good luck unloading the baby grand....good instruments deserve to be played

A REAL String Bass, as in for orchestra. I joined a community orchestra in December, and I played Cello and string bass back from 4th grade until I graduated from community college. Been wanting to play again ever since (last played May 1980 before December). I even went to all state orchestra my senior year in High school on bass. I'm doing pretty well on getting back where I was, still needing to build up my strength and endurance back to where I was. The bass was the orchestra's - I might consider buying my own if/ when I get a job. Would like to get a digital piano / electronic keyboard too, mostly for myself. I'm not too bad a singer either - when I don't have a sinus infection problem. Some voice training and I could be really good. |

Well, I don't know anything about pianos but this one is a beauty and I'm told was tuned recently. Free to anyone that wants it. Two adopted Chinese girls learned "classic" piano on it but it's time has come to go. Looking for someone who would appreciate it but it's got to go. We surely don't want it to provide heat from the fireplace. It is/was an expensive musical instrument. Thinking some church or school might take it but, no luck so far. Bump. Rams |

My Father played the organ (just ask Gig, he was really proud of his organ). When he passed, it sat in my Mom's home until she passed. We then tried to sell it (it was about a $5000 instrument), had a guy that was interested, but wouldn't come pick it up. We sold the house, but ended up giving it to a young musician, that played for his church, but did not have an organ at home. He was thrilled to have it, but I haven't heard any more since we gave it to him. His parents surprised him with it, as they couldn't afford to buy him one. I hope someone is getting some enjoyment from it because as Gig (and Lulu) can tell you, my Dad really enjoyed his organ.

Hi, Rams! Hope you've been healing well. Just as a point of reference, I inherited a piano from my mother a few months ago. Similar to MSB's (a high-end Chicago-made upright Kimball of early 20's vintage that my grandfather purchased new). I had it shipped via USHIP just a few months ago. Bottom line cost (including an unexpected $20 "tip") from Elgin, IL (Chicago area) to an hour south of Champaign, IL, about 200 miles on the nose, was $425. Delivered into my home with several porch steps and numerous guttural utterings of unprintable content.
My brother had tried to give it to churches, schools and all of the other suggestions listed above. No takers, either! Frankly, I'm glad I have it to enjoy. A gorgeous piece of furniture, too, that really works in our 1880's house. Wonderful, full sound. I think part of the problem is no one learns how to play piano anymore, compared to the day when it was an accustomed piece of furniture that was used regularly in many of the homes of "the more refined". My godfather, THE late Roger Williams, played this piano at my grandfather's house in Des Moines and I have a gifted miniature piano music box from him (it plays one of his old theme songs, "Autumn Leaves") that I display on top. I was willing to let a church or school have it if they could use it, but I was NOT going to let it just be tossed aside.

Have had a number of folks tell me they would love to have it but unlike a upright piano, a baby grand takes up a lot of space. It is, what it is. I think I have found a home for it but, till it is gone....... Rams |

I believe it was, but not a B3, I think those are the sought after ones, especially if you have a Leslie speaker to go with it. |
