Been a day or three but I've either picked up there or delivered there at one time or another. Some of those paper warehouses are scary old. Looks like it may have been well involved before Fire Fighters arrived on scene. That video shows it completely involved and beginning to collapse. There are times I miss being a Fire Fighter. 8 degrees and wind blowin ain't one of those times! I PRAY all those Fire Fighters are safe!  angel RIDE SAFE.

Ah, the memories.
If I had a nickel for every time I passed that place, I’d own the Crocker big tank from Mecum last week.
As a Tool Room/Job Shop Machinist, always looking for that long term stable job, Marcal was definitely at the top of the pile in NJ.
They wouldn’t talk to me / hire me, because I didn’t have papers from Bergen Tech. Their loss. I’m sure the people walking around on custom fit implants I made are glad I didn’t settle for paper products.
Lots of shops in the area used their products. I used to call the tool room and complain when the perfs on the paper towels or toilet paper didn’t tear right. “ Hire me and I’ll get that fixed for you. “
Between Marcal and the old Lithium Battery factory just up the road, that blew up every few years, the Elmwood Park FD had a lot of real world industrial fire fighting experience. Kudos to them, glad everyone is safe.
A pioneer in recycling, a navigation landmark in North Jersey and a good place to work. They certainly deserve a better fate than this.
