Possibly the greatest rendition of Amazing Grace I've seen.

Thanks for that,
I took piano lessons as a kid for 4 weeks.
Then the teacher called my mom and advised her to save their money. lol

I spent almost an hour listening to the various artists after listening to that

Hard to beat Bagpipers playing. Always reminds me of the Fire/EMS funerals I've been to, and the friends and colleagues I've lost over the years. I have a memorial tattoo on my arm that keeps growing very year. It's time to get it upgraded for 4 we lost last year.

I concur.... The other renditions were wonderful and I thank those who posted them, but just can't beat it on the pipes... The Rogues rendition is my favorite, the switch from solemn tune to celebratory dancing music is great...

My favorite And requested for my Funeral-Amazing Grace Royal Scots Dragoon Guards. I followed the first link to some Rather Interesting Pipe music. I've been to a P G R Funeral for a St. Louis Ride Captain that was killed on an escort. 2 Live Bagpipers at Jefferson Barracks in St. Louis. NOT a dry eye amongst All those gnarly old riders. There is Something about Bagpipe Music that moves my very Soul. RIDE SAFE.

I love the bag pipes the best, but this version on the slide guitar is very soothing. I could listen to this on a loop for hours. Different than most but very good.

A universally inspiring song for sure, Amazing Grace. That version on the slide is beautiful...love slide guitar. As is the pipe version played by that young lady...wonderful.
I do think pipes are the best for this song.  I've been playing Masters soccer (40 +) now for over 20 years. The club I played for through my 40's and 50's until I moved and joined a new team this year had a Scottish contingent, and several of the guys were in pipe bands. With old guys playing soccer there is bound to be occasions when teammates pass on early, as was the case with that team... at least 3 times if I remember correctly. The tradition in those instances was for both teams to gather  in a circle at centre field before the game with the pipers in the middle belting out Amazing Grace. Most of us on both teams started those games with tears in our eyes, but knowing our comrades were given a proper send off.
We would also do the same each year  the week of Remenberence Day to honor those who served .
