I had to google on it, evidently that was Tom Landry and some racist dude, January 2 1972 (22 days after I was born.)

Kinda funny I just realized, here in the Dallas area we've got freeways named for both of those dudes...

Heh, double funny, while searching it seems the LBJ Freeway (635) doesn't make any reference to that name on any of its signage...

Oh, and here's a smaller version of that pic:

And even a writeup about it:

To be honest, it was pretty hard to find a white dude back in that day in Texas who wasn’t racist. (He did evolve though) my grandmother loved LadyBird for her beautification of Texas Hiways.

He really believes all that stuff ? He wants to burn the flag ? (Maybe they just feel sorry for him)

Yup, he's WAY out there, in favor of this new Green Deal silliness, tax the rich at 90%+, reparations, total gun control (That's another one, he'll go on about gun control... in rural South Carolina!)

He's generally eloquent, not "crazy" in the traditional sense (Although obviously his ideas are)

It is kinda funny, he befriended a local who was a Marine DI, and they'll go back and forth at each other for pages and pages and pages on Facebook..... Can be quite entertaining to watch from a distance...

(Of course, knowing me I MIGHT interject a meme or two from time to time in their discussions.)

The step-father-in-law used to e-mail me these multi page political rants, I asked him to stop but they kept coming, I eventually came up with a plan though; whenever he'd send a rant, I'd donate $20 to the opposite cause in his name and just reply to his e-mail with the "Thank You" receipt e-mail.

"He" donated to the Trump campaign, the NRA, NAGR, GOA, Republican National Committee and I think a few others before he finally got the hint and stopped...

Anyway, I'd apologize for the threadjack, but I figure at this point the main meat of this thread has been devoured, so wherever the conversation floats off to is fair game...

We've managed to steer far away from watching the Super Bowl. But....I will just throw this out here. People are people all over this great country. There are good and bad, right and left, kind and evil everywhere. At least everywhere I've been. To intimate that if Bob moves to Tennessee he will get beat up is just plain foolishness. It might be more accurate that they are suspicious of northerners, that is a long way from saying the people there are going to commit violence upon him because he is liberal or different than them.

He loves America (he claims), just wants to "save" it and make it into a communist country. Proud veteran, he's very proud of his 8 months in the Air Force! (We don't ask how one does 8 months in the service)

He's full of contradictions. Says he's a full blown communist and wants the government to take over all aspects of our lives because of his experience in the military seeing first hand how inefficient, bungling and idiotic government is.

When I try to point that out to him, I get a speech about it's because we need government control because you can't trust "The Corporations" since they're pure evil.

So anyway..... yeah... He's an interesting character.

Yes, yes I did. It was a tough one. #2 REV PRESS light in flight. Chronic.

I changed the T/R PRSOV, no help. All my wiring checked good, all up through the pylon and engine.. It was intermittent, which just adds to the excitement.

It ended up being an intermittent shorted DPV pressure switch. It would simply short, supplying air to the T/R in flight. A certain rise in pucker factor, for sure.

Our Buses had a SB done a few years ago that auto-stowed whenever the squat switch was broken, so there was no danger.

Gotta love those old Buses, some are approaching 40 years old with almost 100,000 hrs on them. Good money makers, both in revenue and overtime to fix them.

*Sigh*

Love flying, love anything to do with flight. Born on an Air Force base, ALMOST became a pilot (Someday when I've not been too yakky on the forums or even better in person over an adult beverage ask me THAT story)...

My dad was a Captain in the Air Force in charge of, in his words, a "squad of nerds" that maintained the at the time bleeding edge terrain following radar of the F-111...

Last time I tried to talk meat with someone I was told I was being highly inappropriate and should leave the bar.

My mother-in-law.......
My step-father-in-law........

Your step-father-in-law obviously has one saving grace, excellent taste in women.
Your mother-in-law must be a very kind and benevolent woman with a very big heart.
My condolences to the rest of the family.   2funny
