I recently joined a b-body group on Facebook and now I’ve got an itch for a 68-69 Dodge Charger. Not likely to act on it as my hands are full and my age is a limiting factor too. I turned 16 in 1968 and that same year my Dad bought a 1969 Charger. So I got to cut my teeth on one of the koolest cars of the 60’s and go cruising with the girlfriend on Friday and Saturday nights.
But I’m anequal opportunity gear head. My wishlist is ever expanding with some being on the list for decades and include,
66 Corvair Corsa with a midengine V8 conversion 63-64 Impala SS 64 Buick Riviera with a dual quad 425 nailhead Anything with a 426 street hemi

 All nice rides you've chosen for sure. I really enjoy looking at all the 50's 60's 70's vintage in person but also like the JB/Mecum auctions along with the car mechanic tv shows. Mopar's are all a fine looking to me, real tough look.  I hope you can get the one you want, never too late.

I have a (Hemi orange) 1970 Challenger convertible "RT" 383 mag that I have owned for 35 years. It will probably go on my estate sale when I'm gone. Before that I had a 70 Challenger RT 440 but sold it during the gas shortage years in the late 70's While my friends were all running Mustangs, Camaros and Chevells I always wanted something different. Probably why I have a Valkyrie instead of a Harley.

Traded it in for a 72 Beatle  I remember going and looking at new 340 Cudas for $3,000 which was way out of my reach at the time.

My Dad exposed me to my first Molar in 57 when he got a coral and white convertible.. Will always remember that it had the early hemispheres with two fours, had that crazy cross ram manifold where the carbs were off set . Had to laugh when he traded it for a 60 Chevy with a 348 that had tri power and would always say what a dog that car was compared to the dodge. Later on he and Mom got a 69 Sport Fury and a 70 Challenger RT, of course it was Plumb Crazy.

My Step Dad was a Chrysler Plymouth dealer when I became of age to drive.
I've owned dozens of Mopar products over the decades and some of my favorites were the Valiants with the Slant 6 225.
Loved my 74 Snow Fiter with the 360, wish I still had it.
Had a 66 New Yorker with a 440, black with white leather interior. What a tank, but so cool.
65 Cuda slant 6 was my first car.
Had a 73 Duster with a 318, light car and that little v8 did well.
Always be a place in my heart for the Mopars.
If your ever in Detroit, hit the Walter Chrysler Museum, great way to spend an afternoon.

Been driving Mopar for many years. Still do.
But my one big foray into restoring an older hot rod cured me of that particular hobby forever.
Spent years working on it and $17K (all told) on 80's Capt's pay. When done, I was afraid to take it (or leave it) almost anywhere. And I wasn't going to bring it to snow country (when I got out) (fiberglass), so it sold for a big loss.
On top of all that, the wife came to view it as the other woman.
Never again.
Not that I don't appreciate them. But now all I want in 4 wheels is reliable utility (my bikes are my fun toys).

hopefully next year I will be able to get back to restoring my '73 Duster 340 which was my daily driver years ago. It's very rare with the 4-speed and factory A/C. So far it seems it is 1 of 2 with that option combo. '73 is the last year of the 340 engine. Only 2,037 Duster 340 4 speed cars were made in '73.

My brother has an old green 340 Dart sitting out in his giant barn/machine shop/airplane hanger. Since his retirement, he works on one project after another. Rebuilt (and works) three antique tractors, built an airplane, built two FAA approved runways, built a 30' motor trawler boat (and custom trailer), and many more. All by himself (when I visit up there, I'm not allowed to help, just watch, which is probably for the best). Now he's rebuilding our old Turnabout sailboat (with no plans available, just a tape measure and the old rotted out hulk). He got in a bunch of trouble in his youth with hot rod automobiles, mostly a 340 Cuda (but no trouble for many decades). I expect to see the Dart come back to life one of these days. His daily drivers are two late 60's Dodge pickups. Though he will drive his wife's new Jeep, if he has to. He bought the Jeep for her because he just couldn't stand having her Ford on his property (after they married a couple years ago).

The 68-69 Charger is a nice looking ride. I like the muscle MOPARS, LA, RB , Hemi engines.

 Is that light green?  I wrecked my first car a Dodge Dart like the one you pictured but brown in color on the icey roads around Lawrence, KS. Actually belonged to my buddy who was in the passenger seat. Memories...... Memories......  It was baby blue, just the photo has faded over time. Slant 6 with a 4 speed manual. Totally gutless, I had a school bus walk away from me at a stop light. But, even though it was gutless, it kept on going and going and going... I gave it to a buddy who gave it to a buddy who sold it to a guy buying cars to ship down to Mexico, I'm sure it's still lumbering around in the sun somewhere...

I was never able to afford muscle cars until I was an old guy so I never had anything like the Charger back in those days. When I was 70 and retired, my wife and I were really wanting to get a classic car but didn't want to pay an arm and two legs for one. One day, she said "instead of buying a really old car, with no warranty, why don't we buy a brand new car, with a warranty, that looks like a really old car?" We bought a new 2013 Challenger 5.7 HEMI R/T. Three years later, the horsepower thing drove me to trade for a 2016 Scat Pack with the 392 and 6 speed. It makes me happier than any car I've ever owned! And yeah, if I had the room to keep one in the garage, I'd probably still get myself a real classic.

At some point a lot of younger kids are going to reap the benefits of all the late model muscle cars of the last 20 years or so. I remember thinking in the mid to late 70’s that muscle cars or anything with guts were dead. And they were for a while, but have made a nice comeback. The only picture I can find of my dearly departed GTO.

First ex wife and I had a brand new Dodge 3/4 ton pickup in white with a 318 and a four speed. Put it immediately to work and living North of Chicago watched it rot away from the salt used there in the winter. That 318 was a Stout engine. Zero complaints there-just lousy corrosion control. RIDE SAFE.

The only Mopar I have owned was this 64 Barracuda. Got it in 1970 and kept it for 45 years. My brother in law has it now. This is one of a very pics I have of it,probably around 1983 or 84, trying to get it standing tall again. fifth bank near meIt was a 273 V8 with the push button automatic.

Was a big Mopar fan back in the day. Had a couple junkers early on, then when I got my first real job I bought a 1 year old 73 Satellite Sebring Plus... 400 - 4 bbl. Wasn't the 70 Charger I wanted, but I liked that car... had it lowered and added a set of headers.   Started buying road bikes and trucks after that so I never did get my Charger.
