Light fog this morning but not wet anymore, roads dry so we get the bike ready for the short ride to church.

Bike is perfectly detailed and proud to be out after a week of solid rain and scuz.  After church lets out the sun is out its warm, (hot even for Feb) but, and for me its a big but!!!

The trees are deploying their pollen, its terrible.  All the cars were covered and then we get to the bike. Holy cow there's a 1/16" of pollen on the seats and saddle bags.  No problem, wipe the seats and the wind will blow the rest off, right.  Wrong, the wind blew some off but lots was jammed in every crevasse and corner you can imagine.

So, after breakfast I get to it.  seat off side covers off.  Was ready to take the shield and bags off but managed to work around them.  

The result, the Cobra bike is beyond clean and ready for spring.  Wiring and stuff behind the side covers clean, under the swing arm and engine bottom sparkling, Wheels already polished. all rubber and vinyl looking healthy and black.

That was as much cleaning as getting caught in the rain......

Forget my bikes, there's not one thing in my whole dang house that clean.   

It warmed up nice here today, but the slop from snow, salt, heavy rains and mud all over the place means a ride requires a full wash.

It wasn't a complete loss, I pumped out a hundred gallons of water out of my backyard.  And later gave myself my quarterly haircut (outdoors, without freezing).  All ready for boot camp again.

Well Jeff, if I didn't buzz it down to the scalp (which any idiot can do), I couldn't do a decent job at all.  Using a mirror for the back is useless because right is left and up is down.  Being nearly bald on top, and not caring how I look, buzzing it off is good, and cheap, and lasts for months.  And it's great in hot weather.... except it makes my helmet a bit loose.

And those buzz cuts make you able to pass for some of the wanted posters in the Post Office.   

Last time I went to the base a couple years ago, it was more than $10.

I've met other Valkyrie owners that keep their bikes as clean or cleaner than mine. The key is parking in the family room. Always time to clean a small part and soon the whole thing is done.

I also fall into that category, Valk is happy with two or three baths a year.  No pulling off pieces of her to get to weird places.  Just hit the open areas with lots of soap and water.   Though a year ago had to wash her after ran into a swarm of flying ants.  couldn't see thru the windshield.

Two or three baths a year, that's rather excessive.  I bet I have put the hose to her not more than half a dozen times in 17 years. I just don't like soaking her down. Wet towel is all I need. Oh and 49 coats of wax. Lol. No dirt sticks to my bike
