I have to credit good parenting for the girl's parents on this one.

Girls need to be taught that boys (and others) can be untrustworthy, and the earlier the better.

A little self defense training and the right combat mindset can do you some good.

It did for me, as the new kid on the block 12 times before 1st grade.

Funny, I never needed it for girls, just boys.  (and everyone is pretty equal at those ages)

Many years later, I wasn't worried about a headlock, but two in the head through a pillow while sleeping seemed possible (and I had happily proposed over 20 years earlier).
