Ok, so we had a Patriot Guard mission yesterday. It was cold and windy. Some of the riders wanted to go warm up at the I-Hop. Well, I don’t really care for the food at our particular I-Hop but my daughter works there and I haven’t seen her in a while so I agreed to join six other riders.

As fate would have it my daughter was off yesterday. Unbenouced to me when I asked our waitress if my daughter was working she was suspicious.  See, they all know my daughter is 35 years old. The waitress thought I was 40 so I couldn’t be her dad.

I asked the waitress to tell my daughter I was there and she did but she said some guy who was like 40 and with a bunch of bikers said he was your dad. She said it was creepy because she didn’t think that was possible. Lol.

I just got a call from my daughter wondering if it was really me that came in since she knows I can’t stand the food there. So, as I get ready to turn 60. I’ll take being mistaken for a creepy 40 y/o pretending to be dad any day.

That would make my day too.   cooldude

No one mistakes me for 40 (about when I got out of the USAF).

But it's pretty cool when I'm told I don't look my age (which is fairly often).  But don't think it's looks, as much as it is attitude.

It's almost as cool as when I'm told I don't act my age.  Though I'm pretty sure that isn't intended as a compliment.   Grin      (So I should act what?  Senile?  Dead?)

This story reminds me of the first time I met Gig and his girlfriend (Lulu?) at a Valk hookup.  He introduced himself and her, to our table by the pool, as his sister.  Ten minutes later they were over to the side smooching a little.  The shock at the table was palpable, until someone pointed out that it was probably NOT his sister.  Shock was replaced by gales of laughter.  It all about perception.

Hanging onto your boyish looks. cooldude  Me too.  My entire adult life no one has ever been able to guess my age.  People always guess much younger than I am.  That's okay.  I'll be 63 before the end of this month.

Smiley Nice to be mistaken for younger.  I remember a conversation I heard many years ago by a guy that has passed now.  He was telling someone else how to recognize him when they met the next day while discussing the meeting on the radio.  We are all Ham's (Amateur Radio).  He told him that he would be the premature gray guy wearing a particular hat.   Grin

I turned 74 last month and when I look in the mirror I think I look 74. Take the kudos now cuz one of these days who knows!  Roll Eyes RIDE SAFE.

I'm thinking of having plastic surgery so I can transform from being a knarly looking 70 to a creepy unnatural looking 45.  cooldude

You might look as good as Wayne Newton or Mickey Rourke if you did:

You can't make this stuff up (so you want a five pound crank)?

I suppose at 65, it can be difficult to find it anymore (for some).   Grin

Uh, no.

When I was fifteen I couldn't imagine how anyone over thirty-five could function.  Being past that milestone by thirty-three years it isn't what I thought it would be.

I assume the same will be true for you.   Wink

I find it just fine at 61. I just don't get to use it as much as I want.  Smiley As to the OP, I'm sure nobody mistakes me for less than my age. I'm ok with that. I've been old, bald, and fat for quite some time now.

The little blue pill in many circumstances may only be required for the incessantly critical wee woman as opposed to the blonde tart down the street.
Also..I'm betting that more than a few of us who harbor fantasies about that tart don't include conversation after in those carnal thoughts.   angel

Yes, in fact the first time it hung down into the throne water a few years ago, my first thought was that the water level must be up (rather than simple gravity working on the old unit).   Grin

That still only happens very occasionally, and is always startling.  (maybe it's effected by the moon phase and tides)

Of course the real reason it may be hard to find with aging is the abdominal expansion, and not unit shrinkage.   In which case, you can still find it, even if you can't see it (without a mirror).   Grin

That reminds me of a comment made by our very own Skinhead while making a pit stop during Oss's Fall Ride this year. All the cold weather riding gear presented a 'challenge'.

In a bit over 3 wks I'll have my 81st b'day. Believe me guys, you and your partner will be surprised from time to time. Nuff said!  Wink

I've already been asked by my resident bed warmer what I want for my b'day. I told her two things, the second one is to have a day to myself to go riding....maybe the weekend before or following since my big day is midweek and it's difficult to find someone to cruise with at that time. As for looking or acting one's age, when I rode in at the last Florida gathering DDT labeled me the "atypical" 80 year old. Don't know if it's true but I'll take it with gratitude.  Grin

This thread reminded me of this old joke.  It's probably a repeat for many, but here goes:

Bert always wanted a pair of authentic cowboy boots, so, seeing some on sale, he bought them and wore them home.  He sauntered proudly into the kitchen and said to his wife, "Notice anything different about me?"

Margaret looked him over, "Nope."

Shaking his head, Bert went to the bedroom, undressed and walked back into the kitchen completely naked except for the boots.  Again he asked Margaret, a little louder this time, "Notice anything different NOW?"

Margaret looked up and said in her best deadpan, "Bert, what's different?  It's hanging down today, it was hanging down yesterday, it'll be hanging down tomorrow."

Frustrated as he could be, Bert yelled, "AND DO YOU KNOW WHY IT'S HANGING DOWN, MARGARET?"

"Nope, Not a clue", she replied.

"IT'S HANGING DOWN, BECAUSE IT'S LOOKING AT MY NEW BOOTS!"

Without missing a beat Margaret replied, "Shoulda bought a hat, Bert."

It was a sobering day when I realized I have become my Dad !   Sometimes I catch my reflection in a store window or mirror and my first thought is " who is that old guy " ?   Every body wants to live to a ripe old age but nobody wants to be old. As for me, I will take a birthday anytime , I am going to collect as many as I can .

Ride safe
