Dunlop Roadsmart 3 Tires

I'm finally getting around to taking the stock Dunlops off. Been using the search function and have seen people sticking to the radials instead of bias ply tires.

All options currently show most stock sizes as bias ply, which means I'll need to go with the 120/70r19 size for the front and as close to the 180/55r17 as I can get.

The Dunlop Roadsmart 3s are looking tempting. Lots of good reviews from folks that put them on a FJR1300 (sport touring bike) that weighs in about 650lbs wet. Just 100lbs shy of our bikes. What be thy opinions, oh men of many words?

Looks good but never liked Dunlops, the only way to know for sure is try them.

I have the Roadsmart 2 rear tire on now and I bought another last year to put on when my current one wears out.  Got them from the Motorcycle Superstore.  The first one was $110 and the second one cost only $90.  People had them on FJRs and BMWs, so I figured that they would be good for my bike.

It has great wet pavement traction.  The same week that I put it on, I took a ride to Lake George.  I was in a downpour and the bike held the road beautifully.  Even going around the sharp curves around Minerva, NY after the downpour.  I have @ 9000miles on it and they still have lots of tread left.

Took the plunge. $321 initial total and comes with a $40 rebate I can send in.

$281 isn't bad and even though they are Dunlops, they can't be as bad as the stocks (I know, they are also Dunlops)! I hope...
