Time enjoy wasted is not wasted time

Nanuet, NY

« on: March 17, 2019, 03:03:41 PM »

I had a busy weekend Friday I took the day off and started prepping  my boat for the season.  Saturday did a little more work on the boat then thought I would take the Corvette out for a ride to my new slip in Stamford CT sadly the battery charger must have gotten unplugged at some point and the car wouldn't start Smiley
This morning was Corvette club breakfast and the car started fine so we took a nice ride to NJ and then hit Seven lakes drive for a little dust off ride.  This got my juices flowing so as soon as I got home I had my wife drop me off at my in laws and rode my bike home.  The bike started right up but took a while to really smooth out.  I don't own any cold weather riding gear so even though it was about 40 degrees it was a cold ride home!
Now that the bike is back home as soon as I can make a little room in the garage (winterize the snowblower and put away in the shed) I can get to work cleaning up the bike and give it a full saftey inspection then any nice weather day I can hit the road!
I hope everyone is getting the itch it hit the road and I hope to see a few of you out there soon!

Not the best picture but very happy with the resently painted saddlebags

What I discovered when I brought the saddlebags in to be painted is I don't think anyone has ever clean behind them so I will be removing them and giving the bike a complete detailing something I thought I did last year but clearly I have a lot to learn in this department!

Been cold down here as well. Rode to work and back for the past couple of weeks in shorts and got a bit of a chill on the ride home a couple times.  cooldude

David,
Glad you got out and caught some wind.   I honestly don't know how you North Easterners do it.   I would not want to deal with your weather and/or the cabin fever I would be having.

Rolled mine out to the driveway to let that black beauty absorb the rays of the sun.  After 30 to 40 minutes I enriched the carbs and the dragon came to life.  What a great feeling.  When the snow melts and a good rain falls she's going on the road again.

roads are clear now but the melting snow on snowbanks creates water over the roads.  I might consider taking scoot out next Saturday high near 60 but roads are in terrible shape potholes enough to wipe out any cycle if hit just right all over the place.  Will see about what next Saturday brings?

Kids wants to take his frj1300 out next Saturday but he needs to slow his roll on the curves due to all the sand/salt/buckled debris of roads all over the place.   I have got to get the snow tires off 2 vehicles as well next weekend as well since highs pushing 60 following week not good for snow tires tread depth.  They say much past 50 take them off but the lows are still in the upper 20s below freezing and never know about another bout of snowflakes when in the low 30s still at night even....
