Indeed, while last year no U.S. city was in the top 10 costliest places in the world, this year, New York (No. 7) and Los Angeles (No. 10) cracked the list. And San Francisco climbed to 25th up from 37th previously, while Houston climbed to 30th from 41st and Seattle to 38th from 46th. https://www.marketwatch.com/story/two-us-cities-just-cracked-the-top-10-most-expensive-places-to-live-on-earth-2019-03-18?mod=mw_latestnewsamazing all are run by democrats.

New York and LA also tax their working folks the hardest of any city in the country, while doling out the most to the largest numbers of non working welfare leeches. It is also legal to piss and crap in the streets too, so there is a huge draw for living there.

Why does it seem that so many original threads on this forum are the result of waking up in the morning and looking for something to piss you off?
I've never seen anything like it.

do not forget is legal in NY to be naked in the city streets. all good reasons to NEVER EVER live or be too long in NY or LA. All say nearby Madison WI is top 10 cities to live in. NOT ME! Fine to work in, but never ever would you catch me living up there. Big cities turn me off.

You think that's bad, there hasn't been a republican mayor of Washington DC since 1910 (and before that 1882). Now there were a number independents through 1961 (and maybe some were closet republicans who knew they couldn't get elected if they admitted to being a republican, but maybe not). And DC is as screwed up as it gets (either because of or in spite of some degree of continuing Federal oversight). It was the murder capital for a number of years in the 1990s, directly related to crack cocaine. Though looking at total crime, it is lower, simply because it has far less population than many other cities. Whatever you do, never ever allow DC statehood under any circumstances. How many other cities can boast that after their mayor was caught on video snorting big fat lines of coke with his hooker friend in a motel room, and did time in the slammer, he was re-elected. It's exceedingly expensive to live there too.

Within a 50 mile radius of DC is more accurate for frightfully expensive to live there. As a JO there from '88 - '95, I seriously wondered how junior enlisted personnel were making it there - it was bad enough as an O-3 - and my wife also worked. There was exactly 11 government quarters for Navy JO's in '88 - everybody else was out on the economy (with some pretty high VHA rates at the time).

Well you're absolutely right about that 50 miles. Especially the poor enlisted folks.
I got out of service, then took work in DC (and took a small pay cut to start GS11, from a senior O3). (1992, so we overlapped a few years) (but I made GS14 in 4 years, and life got better)
I had a Navy Lt buy across the street from me a few years ago (with San Francisco family money help), but I found out from her that the military had really bumped up the variable housing allowance (VHA) since I got out. She ended up PCS and renting to even more junior officers twice, and they could actually afford to live there.
In SoCA (March AFB- '88), I rented a small simple house off base and even with VHA housing allowance, I had to throw in $300+ a month to afford the rent, plus all utilities (until I got on base, which took a year on the wait list)(and I got very lucky and got one of only five company grade houses available on base). My wife worked on base..... and they pretended to pay her.

A post with just the link to the article would be enough. But you feel it necessary to make it political. Poop stirring, political huh, waking up and being upset, sounds to me like the news every morning listening to AOC, Hillary, Pelosi, Schumer, Rosenstien, impeachment and Russia Gate and the dems or progressives or liberals such as yourself don't make one sound. Used to be I was proud to be a New Yorker no more with the abortion bill and the unfairness in NY. I feel this was taken away from me unnecessarily and without just cause by some jerk making a decision against the wishes of most of the people, a renegade, corrupt, politician with no morals. Throw them all in jail and let the judgement of their decisions be the judgement on their morals and political life. Its nice to know that there are others who actually think and feel that these people are corrupt and need to get their butts locked up. So I find it comforting and hopeful because when the silent majority speak then things will change and in stark contrast to the news. Find it uncomfortable good then maybe you will have appreciation of what many have endured over the 8 years of the previous admin and we now endure through a corrupt and boisterous DNC.

https://www.truthrevolt.org/news/democrats-run-highest-crime-cities-americaThe cities with populations over 200,000 ranked as the most dangerous are: Detroit, MI - Mayor Mike Duggan - DEMOCRAT Oakland, CA - Mayor Jean Quan - DEMOCRAT Memphis, TN - Mayor A C Wharton - DEMOCRAT St. Louis, MO - Mayor Francis G. Slay - DEMOCRAT Cleveland, OH - Mayor Frank G. Jackson - DEMOCRAT Baltimore, MD - Mayor Stephanie Rawlings-Blake - DEMOCRAT Milwaukee, WI - Mayor Tom Barrett - DEMOCRAT Birmingham, AL - Mayor William A. Bell - DEMOCRAT Newark, NJ - Mayor Ras Baraka - DEMOCRAT Kansas City, MO - Mayor Sly James - Independent (but probably a DEMOCRAT) https://www.americanthinker.com/articles/2018/03/america_doesnt_have_a_gun_violence_epidemic_democrat_cities_do.htmlHere are the non-fatal shootings top 20 per capita. Notice the overlap of several cities; the cities on the non-fatal list absent on the murder list are also Democrat-run cities, except for the last one, Jacksonville. Here's a sampling of five longtime Democrat empires (all days are consecutive and uninterrupted). All appear in the top 20 lists: 1. St. Louis: only Democrat mayors; 90% Democrat City Council; 15,000 days. 2. Baltimore: only Democrat mayors and only Democrat City Council; 18,000 days. 3. Philadelphia: only Democrat mayors; 90% Democrat City Council; 20,000 days. 4. Detroit: only Democrat mayors; 90% Democrat City Council; 22,000 days. 5. Chicago: only Democrat mayors; 90% Democrat City Council; 30,000 days. The Democrats have ruled Chicago for longer than Stalin ruled the USSR, the Castros in Cuba, and the Kims in North Korea, and for longer than slavery was legal in the U.S. Exhausted yet? There's more. These are America's top 10 most violent cities, according to FBI data. Violent crimes include homicides, gun violence, gangs, pedophilia, and robberies. Every city is majority Democrat-controlled. Several of the cities on the FBI's list also appear on the aforementioned murder and non-fatal shootings lists. Because the FBI's ranking is per capita, several cities such as Chicago and Newark (only Democrat mayors; 90% City Council; 23,000 days) are absent. Still with me? St. Louis, Baltimore, Detroit, and New Orleans crack the top 50 for most dangerous cities on the planet. New Orleans has elected only Democrat mayors for the last 55,000 consecutive days; the United States as a nation has existed for 88,000 days. New Orleans's city council is, in theory, nonpartisan; I'll let you conclude how nonpartisan it is. As a side note on Chicago: A report last year estimated that 60% of guns recovered in Chicago came from out of state, with 20% traced back to Indiana and others from Wisconsin. Though difficult to determine from where exactly, in each state, the guns originated, I believe it's reasonable to speculate that they came not from rural areas, but from the big cities, such as Indianapolis and Milwaukee (run, of course, by...drum roll...Democrats). What, you thought Wisconsin and Indiana were red states? Red states are dead; only blue and pur-blue exist. Stats don't lie; Democrats do Democrats sell local gun crime epidemics as national gun crime epidemics. And listen: their sales pitch is effective. I rarely hear Republicans, conservatives, or even the NRA effectively combat this pitch. Data is mixed, depending on the study, but since the '90s, gun violence and homicides nationally have declined. But not in Democrat-controlled cities.

Don't worry. Mr Mueller is working on it..... Well you were right about that Former Obama White House Counsel and Clinton-linked attorney Greg Craig may soon be charged by the Justice Department for engaging in illegal unregistered overseas lobbying, in a case initially probed by Special Counsel Robert Mueller -- a development that would make him the first Democrat to face prosecution amid the long-running Russia investigation. Also after three years of allegations that Donald Trump colluded with Russia, there is now coming to light evidence that Obama and Hillary colluded with Ukraine. President Trump on Wednesday said he has no problem with the public seeing Special Counsel Robert Mueller's upcoming report following nearly two years of investigation into Russian meddling in the 2016 election. All that expectation and waiting on the report the delayed gratification and it all may turn into a big nothing burger. Of course for Trump, now for others it may turn into the biggest scandal in US history.
