Went for a ride yesterday to test out my newly mounted Shinko Journey Tires with Balance Beads...2-0z front, 3-Oz rear
I stayed on local highways as there is way too much sand and wet salt on city streets still.
Temp got to about 55-60 degrees here. At everything from low speed cruising to a couple brief 100mph tests, the tires were very smooth riding...better than the previous set(same shinko tires) with wheel weights.

In lieu of balance beads I am now using good old fashioned BBs. On Phatt Ghurl and in my Pontiac. Had Phatt Ghurl up and over the ton MORE than once!  Roll Eyes Had my Pontiac up and over the ton a few times!  Roll Eyes Smooth as glass at Any Speed. AND big plus here-BBs be cheaper And added plus-no/none/nada/zero dust to plug the tire valve.  cooldude When I last changed my front tire out the BBs that came out looked near as good as the new ones I replaced them with. And when pulling my M/C out or rollin it back into her cave after a ride and when leaving or returning with my cage I can Hear the BBs rollin round free. Nudder words-the BBs ain't clumped up. RIDE SAFE.

To any naysayers and skeptics, I can tell you all that the balance beads work. I was getting an awful hop from my Shinko Journey tires, took off the weights and installed the beads.......so much better!!!!

So about how much weight in BBs did you use?

True. I watched some interesting off road videos and for the big tires about 10 Oz of Airsoft BBs is what a lot of these guys recommend. Seems that the bigger tires are very difficult to balance with wheel weights.

I actually used the balance beads chart for their recommendations on weight amount for the tire application. As someone else stated-weight is weight! Remember the old one bout which is heavier? A ton of feathers or a ton of lead?  Roll Eyes RIDE SAFE.

I believe I used beads on "DDT's" bike just to try them out and they were great!

Now, on my bike, I am using "Slime" in tires that are not quite as heavy as recommended for the Valk and I can't believe how well they are wearing. Not sure if the slime helps out in that department but the balance is great just like the beads.

I don't think they "officially" state that can be used for balancing, but if you are happy... cooldude

Actually, I used "Slime" as it's a name most know.
The name of the product in my tires I have no clue, but, it is offer by the Honda dealership I get my tires at, so I thought i'd give it a go!
I like the idea of it being able to plug a small leak.

I think it would be Ride On.  Used to balance and to stop any leak but not suppose to stick to the wheel when time for another tire.

That name sounds familiar......thanks!

It cost a few extra bucks and i prefer not seeing the wheel weights.
