It's been awhile since I've been on here. The long cold winter has not been good for this ole bod; accentuates the aches and pains.
Reading DDT's posts about his course of treatment I would like to say that I pray for good news for him and all here who have medical problems. I hope that it will be a great riding season for all!
Today, I'm taking the Miata out of storage. Finally hoping to get in some attitude adjuster drives with the top down. Soaking up the sunshine is also on my list in an attempt to loosen things up.
The 'nickel and dime" aches that I have, coming up on 91 years next month, are still not as bad as being on the wrong side of the grass and I'm fortunate. Hopefully, I might even try to ride my son's Triumph since I still have my motorcycle endorsement, although Indiana makes me renew my driver's license now every two years with a vision test and questions.
Again, I wish all VRCC'rs to have the best season ever, especially Bruce!!

My mother is your age and in relatively good health and I attribute much of it to her attitude and staying as active as possible. Enjoy that Miata! I spent the day yesterday cutting and fitting cement board for my kitchen floor. I ran out of material so a trip to Lowe’s was in order. That was a nice break but upon return I was faced with the unloading process. After unloading a couple of tons of cement board, mortar, and tile I was done for the day. There was a time when that would have been a nice warmup. I’m really thankful for the health I enjoy and hope it holds out until I have my last house remodel completed.

I can understand that Brian. When I drive the Miata I have to decide if I want to sit up high and look over the windshield or crouch down and look through it. I can't drive it with the top up. You should see me and my brother in that car. It's a very tight fit.

I think it is great that you still get out and have fun. I gave my Grandmother a motorcycle ride and some people were not very pleased; to dangerous you know. She had never gone and requested a ride, so I took her. She lived to be 108 years old, never loosing the joy of adventure, a real living library and was always fun to be with, just as I am sure you are.
Continue the adventure, every day can be one.

Wayne,
Good to have you back! Thanks for the well wishes... I'm steadily improving, but I'm not all the way back yet, however. And, the 'next step' in diagnosis and possible treatments is still lurking out there next month... Geeez, I dunno. I'm definitely in Limbo for now, but...
I'm pretty much following your plan! Yep, I'm on another road trip, having left 'home' yesterday heading for Webster Springs, WV, and a weekend ride/gathering in a couple more days. I still haven't regained complete 'control', but substantial improvements on that occur almost daily! ALI is her always responsive self, and she and I haven't missed a beat so far...
I'm happy for you that you have your Miata! If ya can't ride, at least you can still get some wind in your face and bugs in your teeth!!! Keep on like you are, my friend, you're setting an impressive pace for all of us who are trying to keep up with you!!! HBD in advance, too!

You should see me and my brother in that car. It's a very tight fit. I think this was a Mini, not a Miata, but ya' get the idea... This reminds me of the James Bond car that they had to make into a convertible to fit Sean Connery: 2000GT Open-Top, the "Bond Model"
2000GT used in the James Bond film, You Only Live Twice
The 2000GT made its most famous screen appearance in the 1967 James Bond movie You Only Live Twice, most of which was filmed in Japan. Two one-off topless models - fitted only with tonneau covers to simulate functioning convertible roofs - were made specially for the film. It is claimed a targa had been considered to accommodate the burly 6' 2" Sean Connery. This retained the original car's fastback profile but eliminated rear side windows. Purportedly, Connery's head stuck out of the top and a roofless version was fabricated in just two weeks for the movie.[citation needed] The car was mainly driven by Bond girlfriend Aki (Akiko Wakabayashi) in the film.
Bond actor Daniel Craig voted the 2000GT as his favourite Bond car of all time. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Toyota_2000G
