who you will find out owns a Valkyrie

I was working in the garden this morning and heard someone calling me from the street.

My neighbors are snowbirds and every day at some point an Ossining police car will stop and an officer will walk around their house to make sure it has not been broken into.  Yeah we have good police here.  They do it when there is even lots of snow on the ground.

Anyway I got up and walked out the garden gate and heard the officer mention I had 2 valkyries.  My garage door was up and the 99 red and carbon graphic Valk was hooked up to my new batteryminder smart charger.  It was desulfating and charging the battery.  He got a kick out of the shotgun and rifle rack on the bmw police bike and remarked how it sucked there was no bmw dealer in the area as perhaps the jurisdictions wanted the bmw police bikes over the harleys

He said "I have had two as well and before that an 82 wing and a burgundy and cream like on the cover of the Clymer manual"  Unfortunately he was just into a double shift today so no riding for him.

What followed was about a half an hour of stories about Valkyries
and we exchanged phone numbers   I mentioned I was the NY rep for this club which he had not heard of and if he comes on lets welcome Peter.

So I met two new Valk riders today.  You just never know...........

I waved at one today from my bike and was completely ignored.  Sad

sorry to hear that Paul.  I wave at cops in cars and bikes,

I think it confounds them but they usually wave back   police

Heck I have been known to just pull up next to a parked police car and just say hello and ask if everything is ok.  That always gets a smile.

You never know what will happen when you say hello or wave.

Sometimes it just makes their day.

Met two guys last weekend riding ‘99 Interstates.  Talked a bit and they hadn’t heard of here either.

I also waved at 4 State Patrol cars lined up half way up Blood Mtn in GA. A known bike race track.  Cheesy

I almost always wave to riders but there are times I feel it is more important to have both hands in the handle bars!  I'm sure there are some that thought I was simply ignoring them knowing this I assume that same goes for others and it may not be obvious as to why someone could return the wave.

About half the time on P G R Missions we have L E O Escort(s). I'll go up to a State Trooper or a County Mounty or a Local L E O and tell them-I have Your Back. That has started some conversations I might not have had otherwise. Good on ya Evan for checking on the L E Os and treatin em right!  cooldude RIDE SAFE.
