So if you use this, do you still have to pay?

But, I'm no longer congested.

Friggin' damacrats in NY will try and tax anything, and, they usually do.  I may have to move my departure date up.

I'd go to N Y C in my big truck and would have to make cursed SURE I had 2 or $300.00 cash money for my bridge and toll road expenditures. I wuz Very HAPPY when I got the electronic toll pay boxes. Weren't any less money BUT I no longer needed cash!  Lips Sealed They git too hard up fer loot-N Y C-careful there they might wanna start taxin farts!  2funny  RIDE SAFE.

IIRC, I have turned down five opportunities in the last four/five months to transport to/through NY City.   Have no interest in fighting the traffic, paying the tolls or, all the crap that goes with transporting to a port.   Just not worth it to me....

Its always been an effective policy for government to take the money away from the citizen with the guise of say, eliminating congestion. Just like taking away our rights on the war on terror. This taxing has been so effective that the ones that could not afford it now definitely could not afford it, the normal citizen or business that needs to be there has to pay or charge more and maybe sacrifice somewhere else, can anyone say Obama care.

The only true winner is NY politicians with their shortfall covered on the backs of people who shouldn't be paying for it, not really solving the problem in a constructive, helpful and innovative way. Of course then we would be truly progressive and be helping people instead of taxing them to death. The politicians would actually be doing their jobs and working, looking out for the public good, what a concept.

The congestion charge in central London is from 7a.m. to 6p.m. Mon-Fri. Priced at 11.50 pounds. What a coincidence?

Also introduced the ULEZ charge on top of the congestion charge.

Don't go on them unless you have the EZPAss or what ever they use in VA. It will cost you a pretty penny if you do. (Lesson learned the hardway).

Yup, once you drive all the po' folk and lesser beings off the road and let the worthy pay, it's less congested. Of course the imPOtant folks who passed the laws, won't be bound by them. Kind of like Obamacare.

Oh they're usually a little more subtle than that;  they'll pay too, but quietly pass an additional travel expense benefit to their salaries to cover it, from taxpayer money.  Same for parking, if they don't have their own lots/garages.

Along the same lines as the rain tax these liberals seem to come up with.
