Me and my Valk at Freedom Rock

« on: April 08, 2019, 04:43:22 PM »

I'm about 3 hours east of Mitchell S.D. Just looked at the National Weather Service Forecast for the middle of the week. (We had some rumors of some snow in NW Iowa so looked at the forecast.)

The forecast for the Mitchell area is for 8 inches of snow on Wed.

New snow accumulations on Thursday of 11 inches.

That's 19 inches of snow.

The forecast for areas to the north and east of Mitchell (Aberdeen and Watertown) is for heavy snows. They aren't even venturing accumulation guesses.

Worthington is expecting 4 inches according to the forecast (Hour to my north) so the snow band is supposed to be relatively narrow.

19 inches of snow in 2 days.

More flooding to come.

BUT always a but by the weekend overnight temps will be flirtin with freezing again!  Lips Sealed But I did git Phatt Ghurl up on the lift and removed the rear wheel. My ATT is down to the wear bars. And Phatt Ghurl is due an inspection so i can retag her. Plus I will be ordering a new battery 2moro. Gonna give up a few nice days so I can ride the rst of the summer after she gitz serviced again. Sorry bout you gittin more white stuff dumped on ya!  Undecided Winter WILL be over-eventually!  2funny RIDE SAFE.

I guess it's not a good time for me to bitch about the heat. It was 97* when I got off work today.  Smiley

Yes, time for winter to quit and move on!
I’m at my sisters home in Lakeland, Fl. For a much needed visit.
It hit 90 yesterday, felt good, but I’m Valk-less.  Undecided

only good thing is the snow coming next 2 days will MELT quickly, but cause flooding again am sure.

Unreal how much rain we got last September well over 10 inches in less than 24 hour period, that was enough washing out roads, etc.    At least snow melts slower than rain.

After two days of heavy  (at least for us living on dry side of mountain) rains, we woke up to a skiff of snow.  So I feel for your folks who got inches  of it.   I did hear that our high country here got over a foot of new snow.

But sun is out now and may get to go for ride later today.   coolsmiley

We're supposed to get hit too.  No doubt won't be as much.  I didn't change the Kubota over for summer use yet - still rigged for snow.  However pretty sure I won't need to use it this time - the 4Runner and CX5 can handle whatever shows up - and the snow will melt faster if not piled up.

No not this year it's more of a family vacation.
I have driven over 300 miles in Wis this year so the need to ride isn't that great, plus I told my wife that I wasn't go to. But I do kept a helmet and jacket here just in case I do.
