I'm thinking the link would say that a pole reversal is due. Thats part of nature and we're learning that weather changes happen faster than we before thought. No one is quite sure what happens during a pole reversal. Our magnetic field is our solar filter.

I do not make fun of preppers, they are the ones that may
survive the next event.   It never hurts to be prepared for emergencies and give occasional thought to what is in the pantry.

We learned in earth science in HS that the earth's magnetic poles have reversed and moved many times in earth's history. Since nobody was alive then we dont know why or when but it will likely occur again.

Perhaps the only way we will know in advance is when wildlife goes bat$hit crazy like before  earthquakes

If one really reads the linked story, it shows that no one really knows what is happening.  Nor when the pole reversal will/could take place.  Probably no one here now will see it, nor any of our children's children's.

Also, the "scientist" being interviewed don't know what has happened in the past, but are talking about changes they have seen in the recent history.  Sort of like the "Climate Scientist" we have telling us that a degree or so change in our global temps with be the end of us.   Like it hasn't been this warm or warmer in the last 2000 years, yeah right.

Indeed.  The molten oceans of metal that surround the Iron core seem to be subject to ocean type currents and change all having effects on the magnetic field.  In a short word the magnetic field is chaotic.

Yea, that cracks me up.  We know the temps during the mid-evil warm period and the advances it brought. We as well know the temps during the mini ice age and what that brought. Yet now one of our political superstars claims we have but 12 yrs left.
