snapped leg bone if you ask me - OUCH!

I fractured my ankle once they say a fracture can be worse than a clean break, but do not want to find out again for I was crying like a little baby in pain so bad when age 14 or so playing football with the high schoolers.  They did not like me showing them up their size and near as strong so they gang tackled me all 4-5 of them landing on my ankle snapping it heard it break.

worst part was in a cast for over 2 months and then when took it off,  I still could not put pressure on it using crutches still for another 2-3 weeks after cast was off.

(And I think we're pretty safe here as I doubt she frequents this forum, but she's a little upset about people posting the video over and over and her keep seeing it:

I will NOT watch it as I remember like it was last night and I was watching when Joe Thiessman the Q B had his leg broke. I believe it was L T that had tackled him heard his leg go and was first up hollerin for assistance for Joe. And having had a broken ankle in Aug 16 I have some first hand knowledge.  :-X Part of the reasoning of me not looking at an accident scene if i can avoid looking. Couple years driving an ambulance and being a volunteer Fireman and big truck all over our fair Nation I've seen enough broken and mutilated bodies. I Hope and PRAY she heals up well.  RIDE SAFE.

+1.  I remember the Theisman gut wrencher, and I've seen a video of a guy who blew his bowels out powerlifting.   :o
Guess I'm getting old and squeamish; I can't handle seeing that stuff for real anymore.

I still enjoy a good Game of Thrones battle scene though!

I can watch gruesome stuff in movies, but I'd rather not see the injuries to actual people, although for some reason X-rays don't bother me anywhere near as much.  Watching people hurt themselves on AFV or Fail Army literally sends unpleasant shivers down my spine.  I still remember seeing the "highlight" of Theismann breaking his leg, although I had since forgotten the details, or who it was, until now.  Animal injuries, e.g. race horses, don't bother me in the same way.

I am unfortunate to not have been in the middle of scenes involving bad injuries, although I hope I have the courage to deal with a situation should the need arise.  When I've been on the periphery of the scene, I have been glad that there were more qualified people already attending to the injured.

I will not be seeking out the video of this gymnast's injury.

The emperor has no clothes

When I clicked the link yesterday and saw the title, I clicked off. I don't like watching people get hurt. My wife occasionally watches surgery stuff on TV. I turn away when they slice them up. Doesn't bother her in the least. Although the times I've had to deal with brutal injuries in snowmachines and motorcycle crashes, adrenaline or something takes over and it doesn't bother me till later. Here is another difference in my wife and I. Being calm and thoughtful in these kinds of stressful, dangerous events comes easily for me. Not so much for her. She panics and freaks out. I have resigned myself to the fact if I ever have a heart attack or something, I'm a goner.
As to the Joe Theisman injury, I remember it well. But what stands out to me the most was Lawrence Taylor's reactions. He was a brutal player who had no problem inflicting pain and injury on others. But he was beside himself that day.

Psychotic Bovine

She said something to the effect of her pain should not be someone else's entertainment.  I agree with that.
Not judging people who want to watch it, just that I won't.
But from reading the news articles, I feel very sorry for her.

Read about it. Don't need to see it.

But I will watch PBR!  :D
