Can anyone post pics of Interstates without the pods and what are the negatives of no pods?

I want to see all of this motor.  smitten I would keep the pods and all parts but considering shelving the pods for the clean look while the carbs are out and I have an extra plastic tray and crash bars from a standard.

Anyone do this?  Or talk me out of this.

The only negative is the engine guards have welded stuff on them to mount the pods.  I would get standard/tourer guards to put on if running without the pods

you would also have to replace the radiator back shield to a std one. The I/S one extends into the pods.

Jerry,
Here is my old interstate, (will be for sale soon) with out pods, and with standard crash bars. I had led running lights mounted on the crash bars.
I also like the engine look, I have been contemplating removing the pods from my new to me interstate as well.

You will need to come up with some radiator side covers.

We owned this bike for a couple of years and it was built by a guy in AL named Lee.  He told me he took the Pods off the first day he got it home and sold them.  He thought they hurt the look of this great motor.
Engine sure looks better without them.  All of the other Interstates we've owned had the Pods on them. Here are a couple of other pictures of this bike:

Really allows lights in the engine to show up without the Pods.

nah...to be honest, I didn't look at all. I was mostly joking. I like mine on my I/S, but I wouldn't buy or sell at that price. (I get the feeling you have barter material if you really want a set)  coolsmiley

I admit it the parts department is quite exhaustive these days. I have noticed some us FL chapter folk have been in the sun a bit to much and are bordering on hoarding.  How many Valkyries is enough? Just one more.   uglystupid2
