A couple months ago, left on a 1000 mile roundtrip ride thinking I could get there and back on my 3000 mile rear tire.
OOPS. Time I got to my 500 mile mid point destination (Albuquerque) the tire was toast.
Called around the closest shops, and expanded my search to the 2 Honda Dealers.  Eureka!  One of them had a stock Dunlop.

In and out in about an hour.  Now it's 4000 miles later, and I'm replacing THAT Dunlop with Michelin.  Was comparing the tires side by side, and...

:o Yep.  The dealer provided tire (in the back) has a born-on date of 4910. Yes, the 49th week of 2010!!  For whatever reason, while I always check tires that I purchase online, I never stopped to check the Dealer provided tire. Heck -I did not know they even made this tire in 2010???

If that is a real date, their actions are borderline criminal...  >:(

Caveat Emptor, baby. :(
Just because you are not paranoid doesn't mean they're not out to get you

I've only had a dealer install tires for me a few times... a couple back when I first got my
Valkyrie (2006) and a few more recently (changing the low profile tires on my 2014
Valkyrie kicks my butt)... I remember way back when... I got the dealer to order me
an Avon... after it was on he was looking in the rack and slapped his head... D'OH -
I already had one of those!... I looked it it, it was old... probably not ten years old,
ouch...
