I just picked up another Valk here on Maui, and would like to add some hard bags. So a guy responded to my add with some OEM honda VTX 1300 hard bags with, the mounting hardware, (2 seperate mounting bracket bars). The bags are slightly differrent, than my other Valk hard bags with the full frame hardware mounts, but similar with fhe rounded top
SO, anyone know if these will bolt on to the Valkyries? They will need to be painted, but the price is good. I figured some one here would know Any help, appreciated, Jack

I don't think Honda ever made factory bags for the VTX. They did for the 1100 Shadows and they look to be the same as the Valk.

I've seen hard bags on the VTX1800 that appeared to be the same as the ones on our Valks. I've not seen OEM hard bags on the VTX1300. The Tsukayu hard bags are very similar to the OEM bags: https://www.tsukayu.com

OK , thanks for the post. They are the Tsukayu bags. The guy didnt appear to know too much, except yhey were on his bike and he took them off. So guessing they do fit. Your link helped me identify them...... along with the grey felt lining. The latches seem a bit flimsy, but I can probably get them for $150

For that price, I'd give them a shot too.

I see where you can still, (according to the website) get a set of replacement latches, hinges and rubber seals if needed, so, Im on and island and they should do the job, vs. my valkyrie on the mainland which I use for cross countey trips, and definately appreciate the OEM valkyrie bags.

I just had the owner measure the mounting bolt distance ( center to center), which he says is 4"? (VTX 1300). The Valkyries are 8.25" Center to center. (That seems awfully close on the 1300), sure would be nice is someone has used these on a Valk just to get some feedback. They have 4 or 5 holes on the back side now, due to a couple bikes.

Many have used them on Valkyries. You will likely have to fab up some mounts. There are a few write ups here on the site about doing that. I will see if I can find them. Grab those bags while you can, that's a good price.

I put a set of Tsukayu bags on my standard and I installed the hangers on the rear fender bolts first (you may need longer bolts), balanced the bags on a car scissor jack and a 2x6, then marked the holes on the back of the bags to match the hanger holes. You'll have to patch the existing holes, but if you're repainting anyway, that shouldn't be a problem.
