And it wasn't even my own bike!
My brother (mad6gun) was working on two Valk Interstates for someone from this fine group, and finally turned the last bolt on Sunday.  Well, we needed to take 'em out for a test ride.  Our short 5 mile ride turned into a 50 mile loop around the eastern part of the county.
A couple of firsts for me:  I have never ridden an Interstate, and have never ridden a Valk with a car tire.
My takeaways:  I still don't like windshields, but the ones on these two bikes were acceptable.  Very little buffeting.  Car tires aren't as bad as I thought they would be, but this one didn't like uneven pavement.  I will stick to the MC tires myself, but a car tire isn't too terrible!  A radio with external speakers aren't too good beyond 30 mph, I'll stick with earbuds.
And the last takeway:  My bro is an awesome mechanic!

Chris,

We all know how that is!!! Glad you got out finally... I do like windshields, and like you, I've found car tires are OK... however, I'm also like you in that I'm sticking with MC tires... We'll be looking for you down the road...

It's amazing how even the same model of motorcycle can feel completely different to someone who has set up theirs to their own reach and personal taste.
Over the course of years, tiny adjustments made to the shifter, the bars, the cant of the pegs, and the backrest can make the bike perfect for it's owner, but feel so weird to anyone else.
