New program on the History channel about meat/butcher, starting soon.

This is not humor and it is not directed at anyone you might know, nor is it intended to be offensive or demeaning.

And yes I intend to watch it.

Just FYI.

Can we sign meathead up for it? He could represent the VRCC on national TV.  cooldude

Looked through Dish's schedule to the end - the 20th.  Nothing appears.   Like to see that.  No doubt it will be elsewhere as well - online, youtube, history.com.  The latter says it's called "The Butcher" and premieres May 22.

Hmmm... If this is it, sadly seems more of what the History channel has become, and I'm not interested... I want history and knowledge, not a silly competition, but:

https://www.history.com/shows/the-butcher/videos/preview-the-butcher

(This is not a slam against OP, just an observation of how far the History channel has deviated from where it used to be (Much as the Discovery channel has as well, heck, I'm so old I remember when the M in MTV meant Music!))

I plan on watching. I hope there is something we can take away.
I do agree History channel has less and less history on it.
Sad to say, I'm sure it's driven by viewership numbers, and viewers wanting history are fewer and fewer.

I saw somewhere that they are looking for participants, so yes VRCC members could apply.

Agree.

Do you get Smithsonian Channel down there?  It’s what the History Channel should be.

Having said that, I’ll have to check out this butcher show. I’ve spent way too many hours watching butchers on YouTube...wild game mostly, but beef, pork, tuna, whatever. I find it so interesting watching a butcher who knows what they’re doing. .

I always knew you Saschatchers had some long, boring winters. But damn, don’t they have curling or something on YouTube ?  Grin

Lol. I was raised on a cattle farm, was in 4-H, learned all the different cuts, etc, but my only actual experience is a couple deer every year and maybe a moose. We were a purebred Angus farm, so we didn’t do any of our own butchering.

So I find it interesting and I might learn something. Plus it’s just interesting watching any person who is good at their trade.

I hear you. I am pretty good at what I do. (After 46 years I should be better) But I know there are many who are even better. Back in the day we used to filet a fair amount of fish. We do little of it anymore. I am mesmerized watching videos of little ladies on a fish line whipping them out.  Smiley
