Don't threaten me with a good time

We had some light rain in the area, nothing intense enough to take out power lines...

Looks like the news provided some details on the local black out that occurred.

Snake Trips Power To Around 16,000 GLPS Customers

Monday, May 13, 2019
by Jim Miller - Radio Greeneville News

A snake caused a power outage that affected many customers of Greeneville Light & Power System Saturday night.

The snake got into equipment at the Tusculum substation near American Greetings and caused around 16,000 customers to be without power for about an hour Saturday night.

The snake tripped the breaker just before 10:00 Saturday night, knocking out service for a wide portion of the county. The substation affected is a major delivery point for electricity to be sent along to other substations in the network.

About 7,000 customers were back on line within 15 minutes, with the remainder returning to service shortly after 10:30 Saturday night.

Is there a room number to send “Get Well Soon” wishes to the snake?

I'm sure the snake would be "shocked" to receive such a gift

There's a dead buzzard at the bottom of one of the poles out on the
edge of our property... I'm not sure if he crashed into it, or (more likely?)
landed up there and touched the wrong thing...

Back when I worked for the phone factory on more than one occasion when we would lose one of the three phases of power coming into the building and the generator would fire up there would be a squirrel laying at the bottom of the pole outside.  They either had this dark streak down their belly of had no hair from their front foot to the rear foot and of course did not survive.

While in WY many years ago I spent a long night getting a new server install, up and running, and transferred the data.  Left at 0500 to go get a shower and something to eat.  Got back to the office at 0630 to find half the office in the dark.  Seems a hawk had grabbed a snake and dropped it on the power lines outside.   Thankfully had UPS on the server.  No the snake did not make it, hawk did.
