I only have the one Valk.  It's enough for me, but reading the forum for so long, I know many of you have multiple bikes.  Let's hear about it.

How do you decide which one to ride?

Which is your favorite?

Pluses or minuses of owning multiple Valks.

I'd love to have a nice shiny second Valk. But I wouldn't know what to do with it. I'm not a polishing kind of guy, I wish I was. My fear is it would eventually end up as Bride to Frankenbike.

More power to you multiples.....

I have 2. No good reason, I seldom ride my Standard anymore. If someone offered me 10k I’d probably sell it.  Smiley I think I’m going to leave it in Alaska when I retire.

I have a Standard (Turned into a Tourer) that was my first and a year ago got my Interstate... I'm finding I ride the Interstate far more than the standard for the storage options, I can make bigger, and thus justify riding instead of driving, grocery store runs on the Interstate then I could on the standard (Although I could get quite a bit into the Standard!)

Once the pain of April 15th has passed and my financial house is back in order I'll be on the lookout for a low mileage cherry Interstate to replace my current Interstate, but I think I'll look to stay at 2 Valkyries long term overall...

only need one valkyrie to modify and ride. I only would consider a second one if it was supercharged and at a low price.
also own a small dual sport suzuki DR200se, 80 mpg and a blast to ride even more so after putting a different cylinder head on it.

I try to ride the one I didn't ride last time each time I go for a ride, or the black one if it is a multi-day
ride... I like the 200 mile gas tank on the black one...

Went with the 1500 + 1800 option. Currently finishing up work on the 2003 to put her back on the road. So many little things keep popping up that need to be worked!

If I could get the stock seat to latch on Stan's interstate I might ride it more. As it is I just look at it longingly  smitten

That 99 interstate came with an ultimate seat that I cant get comfortable on

Weekends I am on my 01 interstate that I will NEVER SELL EVER

It has been serviced by BigBF at least 3 times and each time it runs better than before  110k or so

Any nice workday I am on the bmw 1150rtp

Oss

If I saw a nice black and jade for cheap I might take a look

As of 2 weeks ago, I am down to 1 again. I gifted my '97 Bee to my youngest son (38 y.o.). Now all I have left is my 2000 Interstate trike. The '97 was my first, and the one I enjoyed the most, but I found that after having a knee replaced I just wasn't as comfortable riding it, both physically and mentally. I ride mostly 2-up with the wife, and she prefers the trike to the Bee, and I have to admit, it is nice sitting at a red light or on a hill and not having to hold a bike up. lol

I'm enjoying having two.  Ya, more expense yada yada but the difference between the Tourer and the Interstate are considerable.  They're both beasts, but the Silver Bullet is my butt fast Hot Rod, while Ruby is a bit more refined.  On longer and two-up rides Ruby is the choice comfort wise.  For solo local and even statewide riding the Bullet is usually the choice.  For local group rides I prefer the Bullet because it's more flickable, faster and just more fun.  And, if one is down for maintenance the other is usually good to go.  Knock on wood.  Thought about selling the Silver Bullet late last winter. First ride of the spring was a spirited ice breaking wrist flicker and I wondered, what the hell was I thinking!  I ride both bikes about the same amount and I love 'em both!

One a ‘97 Bee I bought new and the day I test rode it in 28* weather, after about 3 miles I said it is MINE til I die or it does. In 2012 I bought a ‘99 Interstate with only 8k on the clock rode it on trips.  Took it to California one year and Sedona AZ the next and las Cruces the next and to Nova Scotia once and a couple other trips west into Co and NM. Sold it last fall to a friend and it had 57k on it I will probably own it again one day. He is in his 70’s and I dont see him riding much longer (I could be wrong). Also own a ‘16 wing bought in the fall of ‘17 (new). Just didnt have room for 3 and the wife kept saying one has gotta go.  So my buddy got a good deal on the Interstate.

A red/cream 97 standard and a green/gray 99 IS - without trunk.
I ride them both about the same, just alternate.
No particular preference, like them both.

I got a pristine 99' black Interstate in '05, with 3400 miles and over $5K in bolt-ons and airbrush. (now 57K)

Then in 07' a friend offered me his pristine permanent supervalk black 99' Interstate that had a lot of unique work and parts and pinstripe for a steal of a price with 24K on it (just over half the price of my first one), and I had to have it. (now 100K)

I've been asked why I would want two '99 black interstates many times.  Well, despite the similarities, a supervalk is a lot nicer to ride than a trunk bike (I'm always solo).  Two always gives you a backup, interstates have some distinct advantages over std/tourers, and you can easily scavenge one to the other and I've done that a number of times, some temporary, others permanent.

Except my first royal blue BSA lightning, all my bikes have been black and chrome. I would have bought the second supervalk in any available color (except green/tan), but it just happened to be be black too.

I only need one now with riding less miles these days, and sure enough this Spring the trunk bike has developed a clutch issue (sheared rivets/warped plates?), so it's sitting until I can get it fixed (by someone who knows how to).  I'd like to supervalk (permanently) that one too, but having a trunk bike has certain advantages as well.

I had two more bikes (an older dresser Hog and a new hot rod Kawasaki) when I got the second Valk, and I sold them a year later.

I only have one, the Beast, single seater, Ape hangers, shorty 5" exhaust.
I also have a Goldwing, a FatBoy, a 75 Harley Ironhead, and a 69 Shovelhead Chopper.
I like the beast the most, been riding steady the past 2 days.

I recently bought number eight (I think). I repair and resell them. I have my 98 keeper.
I parted out one that was in a fire. The frame was rebuilt and is now back on the road.
I am looking for another project bike when this Interstate is done. It keeps me out of the tavern. My wife never says no to a project bike.

Just one...the same one for 18 years now. I actually would like to get a second at this time...perhaps a Standard or a Tourer that is in decent, rideable condition. For two reasons...1, just because and 2, in order to have interchangeable parts if needed. My biggest fear going forward with my old girl is being grounded due to not being able to find a serviceable key part if needed, and I'm still not at that stage where another bike turns my crank enough to have something different as a spare to ride.

That was initially my justification for getting my new to me Interstate, to have a living donor bike so to speak... As they get older, the theory was to try to keep both road worthy, but if necessary I could at least keep one on the road while waiting on parts or labor on the other...

Ya, I have been keeping an eye out, but sadly 1500 Valks in general are a rare breed up here and when I do find one for sale, it's dubious in terms of how well its been looked after...or way over-priced. I check out CL sites in the states from time to time and am amazed at how many low mile Valks are for sale at reasonable prices...which quickly becomes less reasonable when I factor in that nasty old US/CDN exchange rate. Oh well, I might just have to bite the bullet on that...do it now while I'm still working for a year or two and can afford to "waste" that extra 33-35%. Would be worth it for the right bike...I'm sure the Mrs would agree Wink

While I'd love to have a Valkyrie trike, that's just not in the cards right now.  Maybe in the future.

Just 1 Valk. For whatever reason, I kinda want a 1500 Goldwing too, for no other reason than to see if I can de-farkle it a bit and make a cool touring machine out of it. Certainly don't need it, shouldn't spend any money on another bike, and have no more room in the garage. Actual rational thinking has never stopped me yet, though.

Currently only have 2 Valkyries.  My 99 Interstate and Trish's 2000 Interstate Trike.  With prices so low I'd love to have another one but no room in the Inn.  We can just fit our 3 bikes and the Mustang Convertible in our garage.

4.  "Marty" I bought just to help out my ex BIL's daughter after he kicked the bucket.  Though it has low miles - 16k - he didn't take care of it - like he did with all his stuff, and everything he borrowed from me - and others, I'm told. Amazing he could screw it up so much in only 16k miles.  It would take some $$ and effort to make it nice to sell and just break even so I decided the best decision is store it for parts.  The other 3 are below.  Still have the 02 GW but haven't put it on the road for awhile.  These Valks just have so much more charisma and especially Jade is set up more comfy than the GW and more capable, rigged for towing with trailer brake control, belly tank, fwd controls, elect cruise, pullback bars, Russell seats, great audio and more.  The wing has a bit more power and better brakes and a bit faster in the twisties but still prefer the Valks.
