It seems that way.  Then again, Gunnison seasons don't always jibe with calendar seasons.  It's more like  3 seasons here - - wiiiiiiiinter, thaw and Indian summer.

          Mid 80s here yesterday but 56 here right now cloudy and a bit of rain. Here in the Missouri Ozarks we are ahead of the curve for rain and the impulses from cali continue. 2 or 3 days of relative dry then 2 or 3 days of rain and some of that rain is rather heavy and some is served up with ice!   I'm putting miles on Phatt Ghurl just movin her over towards the work bench so I can get the cage in the garage with the hail threat. That 06 Grand Prix I have Do in FACT have a LOT of front and rear glass. And with a hail warning and I don't get cage in garage-well we Know where that's headed!   RIDE SAFE.

In a Grand Solar Minimum, cosmic rays trigger larger flash floods, hailstorms and – due to jet stream disturbance and mixing of atmospheric layers –  local long-duration precipitation events (e.g. atmospheric rivers).

At the same time as the increased local flooding events occur, more cloud cover and less sea surface water heating means less evaporation of sea water, specific humidity is reduced, overall rainfall amounts are reduced, despite regional precipitation records and flooding. In general, water tends to remain in the cloud cover for longer durations. When clouds are rained out, this happens more violently, whereas the regular transport into the continents is diminished. As a result, in many areas, droughts are historically more prevalent during Grand Solar Minima. This can then be marketed as the result of “Global Warming”, implying man-made global warming, of course. Even though there has been no global warming since 2000. So, due to the shifting jet streams and changing wind patterns, singular heat waves and more wild fires are expected. During the coldest period of the Maunder Minimum, Alaska and the North Atlantic were even warmer than normal.

High solar activity correlates  well with high specific humidity in the atmosphere (see Fig. 3) So, in a solar maximum, less cosmic rays means less clouds, more sunshine, but more water vapor in the atmosphere. Water vapor itself (gas, not condensed droplets) is a greenhouse gas 10x more effective than CO2, thus another feedback mechanism towards warming and stable weather is generated during solar maximum. In addition to the general higher humidity, fair weather means more difference between day and night temperature, also amounting to more dew formation.

Little over a week ago we were enjoying temps in the high 70's, more than a week of it. Temps 15-20 degrees above normal and it was dry.  Missed out on some good riding time due to honey do's.

Now for the last several days its been wet, temps 15-20 degrees below normal.  Not climate change (or what ever one calls it) but weather.  According to weather folks who have been right about 70% of the time we are going to dry out end of week.  (ride or two will happen)

Not sure if the Grand Solar Minimum is causing problems yet or not.  Several Folks (scientist) who study sun spots do think one is on the way.  What will happen if it is, maybe cooler temps or maybe not.  Only way to  see is to watch what happens in the next few years.  I personally don't want to see a return to colder temps, but as the great sage once said "if is going to snow, let it snow"

By the way how can a CO2 which is around 4% of the gasses in the atmosphere cause all the supposed warming, and how is it that humans are to blame with less than 4% of that CO2 is caused by Humans.  Just wondering.

That is not the way it works. You don't wait for years to see what happens with the Grand Solar Minimum. YOU PANIC IMMEDIATELY! You create and implement polices that cannot be undone and give the impression that everyone is saving the world. Just the impression. And then create EVEN MORE PANIC!.

Even down here in the Banana Belt of Colorado, Pueblo it just won't warm up. We got nearly a half inch of rain yesterday (unheard of in these parts). Hoping the weather will be nice for InZane in 3 weeks!

We got 9" of heavy wet snow overnight and it's still coming down.  Trees and hummingbirds are suffering.  Took the plow off the tractor a month ago.  Pretty sure the 4runner can handle the snow as it's not drifted.  Have a gun club meeting tonight and I'm supposed to run videos.  Wonder if anyone will show up.
