getting ready for my 2nd

 Well I'm almost ready for my 2nd Inzane. My plans are to start out tomorrow morning from N.E. Ohio. The way it looks it might be a challenge to stay dry. I haven't made the final choice between which super slab to take, 70 or 80. If any of you more experienced travelers have any advice I am all ears. Last year to Roanoke was just under 500 miles and was my longest venture on two wheels and it's been ages since I've done a run out west on 4. A few more years I will be able to do like some of these posts I've been reading and take a week or 2 or more getting there- I look forward to  that. (I hope) See you all soon.

I'm in Cincy, OH and I've found the BEST road to take west is Route 36.  I pick it up on the west side of Indianapolis, but it looks like you'd be able to pick it up earlier.  I've never been on RT 36 east of Indy.

It's mostly just a 2 lane road going through the small towns and corn fields of the mid-west.  You can still make good time and NO TRUCKS!  Much more enjoyable than the super-slabs!

My brother and I will be hitting the road Saturday morning, planning to arrive at InZane sometime Tuesday.

 Thanks for the suggestion. I'm going to see if that will keep me out of the rain and get me there Sunday. I already reserved the room for Sunday and I'm cheep enough I don't want to pay for 2 rooms the same night. That was my main reason for the highway, but it sounds like yours might work. Thanks.

 Well I didn't make without getting at least a little wet. Rode on the edge of some awsome storms in Kansas last knight.Almost made it to a hotel before it got me. It has been a good ride so far but my new ultimate seat hasn't kept me from getting saddle sore- I'm sure it will pass. Getting ready for the last leg. See you all in about 8 hrs.

  Last leg was chilly but Colorado and New Mexico are awesome. Had to remind myself to keep my eyes on where I want to go.
